Children's Book Club: Turkey Trick or Treat {Giveaway}

It is no hidden secret that we love reading and love especially reading to our children. Over the year we have shared our favorite children's holiday books, and last month we had a guest blogger Jane from Bookroo share some great tips to make reading fun for kids.

Each month we host our own book club, but since we love reading to our kids we thought it would be fun to kick off a book club for the kids too. Each month we will share a fun book our littles have found and maybe a fun craft or snack to pair with it. With our lives now filled with bed time stories and mystery reading it seemed like another fun way to share some of our favorite books and make reading with our kids just that much more exciting.

OCTOBER'S BOOK CLUB PICK
For October, our littles chose the hilarious Halloween story Turkey Trick or Treat by Wendi Silvano.

FROM THE BACK COVER
Everyone loves Halloween candy—even Turkey. But how can he and his barnyard friends get any when the farmers give it out only to children? With a costume, of course! As his pals look on, Turkey comes up with one clever costume after the next. Each trick gets better and better...but will Turkey and his friends end up with any treats? This hilarious companion to Turkey Trouble and Turkey Claus is filled to the brim with holiday fun.

ACTIVITY
Have your children share their favorite part of the story by adding a costume to Turkey. Let them be creative with feathers, beads, sparkles, crayons, etc. See what costume they were inspired by the most or if they come up with a new costume for turkey trick-or-treating with.

A GIVEAWAY
When our friends at The Avenue heard about our children's book club they wanted to help us kick off the fun by giving away one Barnes and Nobel gift card to one lucky reader! Winner will be announced on Friday, October 30th.
