Thanksgiving Decorations

Happy Monday!  I'm not going to lie, I'm excited about Christmas decorations and can't wait to start pulling out all of my bins from the basement and turning my house into a winter wonderland.  I think I'm most excited because this will be our first year in our new house and I can't wait to start new traditions here.  I know lots of people go ahead and decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, BUT I like to take each holiday one at a time. Since we are hosting Thanksgiving this year, Thanksgiving comes first!  Most of my Halloween decorations are just fall decorations.  However, those that were Halloween specific got packed away and out came the turkeys and pilgrims.

Outside I just changed out the ribbon on the burlap pumpkins for my front doors.

And I also switched out my little Trick-or-Treat flag for a generic fall one.

I have a few turkeys I have collected over the years that I scatter around the house.

The kids' playroom also got some turkeys added here and there, too.

Perhaps one of my favorite things to pull out at Thanksgiving time are these sweet little pilgrim salt and pepper shakers.

And lastly, for my kids I get all of our Thanksgiving books gathered and this year I put them in this distressed wooden crate I picked up at HomeGoods.  I have them downstairs in our keeping room  and love having all the books together and handy to read at anytime.

That is about it as far as my Thanksgiving decorations go.  We'll enjoy them for the next few weeks, but you better believe that the day after Thanksgiving we'll be spending the day decorating for Christmas!
