Restaurant Review {Tom + Chee}

I've always thought that it is so important to have girlfriends and at this stage of my life, I believe it to be more important than ever.  One piece of advice I always give new moms is to find a support group of other moms.  You can have play dates, lunch dates, and everything in between.  You can compare notes, ask for advise, and just commiserate with each other over all things that motherhood encompasses.

I have been so lucky to have several groups of moms that have become some of my very best friends.  One group in particular used to all live very close to each other, but we have all since moved and are more spread out now.  Because of distance and busy schedules, we don't see each other as often as we would like.  Jen suggested we all plan to meet for lunch this week while the bigger kids were in school and it was so wonderful to catch up.

We met at a newish restaurant for our area, Tom + Chee, and it did not disappoint.  The name threw me for a minute, but as soon as I walked in a realized what Tom and Chee stood for (Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese), I was so excited.  Especially because I remembered seeing them being featured on the popular TV show, Shark Tank.

 From their website:
Tom+Chee is the grilled cheese and tomato soup shop for the kid at heart, mixing classic comfort food with fresh ingredients, healthy alternatives, and a flare for the unexpected.

The menu was extensive with several types of soups, TONS of sandwich options, and so much more!

I had a hard time deciding what to order, but ended up going with the BBQ+Bacon Grilled Cheese and the soup of the day which was a Blue Cheese Chili.  Yummy.

I don't usually even like chili, but something about hearing the words "blue cheese" made me know I had to try this.  And yes, those are BBQ chips on my grilled cheese sandwich.  Weird, yes.  Delicious, most definitely.  Just like their website promised, they do have "a flare for the unexpected," but let me tell you, it was some kind of good.

Jen got the Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwich and Classic Tomato Soup.  It looked equally as tasty and I probably would have asked for a bite if I hadn't been so stuffed from scarfing down my own meal.

Everyone at our table ordered something different and everyone of us had no trouble finishing our yummy meals.  There were at least 4 other sandwiches I wanted to try, so I will definitely be back.  I think it's a great place for lunch, it is totally kid friendly, and there is definitely something for everyone.  Tom + Chee has lots of locations and it looks like a lot more will be opening soon.  If you live by one or will be visiting near one, I highly recommend it!

Good Food + Great Friends = A Pretty Awesome Monday!
