A Southern Girl's Guide to Fall Favorites {Giveaway}

Listen, we all get excited about Fall. We dream of cozy sweaters, warm boots, crisp nights by the fire... But in reality, this is the South. We can frolic in our favorite flannels all we want, but by lunchtime we'll be regretting no making lighter fashion choices.

We do get those hints of Fall weather occasionally, but we've learned to keep those cozy Sorrel boots in the back of the closet until at least December. Maybe January.

We were chatting/laughing with our friends Barbara and Audrey at Findlay Rowe the other day about this Southern Fall phenomenon that occurs, and decided to come up with a more realistic approach this year. Thus, "A Southern Girl's Guide to Fall Favorites" was born.

So, while we are still keeping the dream of cooler temps and less bugs alive, here is our version of what you really need to put on your radar for Fall this year.

Southern Girl's Guide to Fall

A SOUTHERN GIRL'S GUIDE TO FALL FAVORITES

THYMES SIMMERED CIDER CANDLES
It might not feel like fall, but it can smell like it! Findlay Rowe has an amazing selection of candles on hand and while we are partial to the infamous Volcano candle most of the year, in the Fall we like to switch it to these Simmered Cider Candles.

They smell ah-mazing (even when not lit), and are contained in the cutest hammered coppered containers. It's the one candle that every one comments when they enter our homes each and every Fall, and every year we buy a ton of them so we can enjoy them all season long.

We love the pot sized ones, but the mug ones are adorable too. Bonus: they are perfect for repurposing for yummy Moscow Mules later!

WORLD'S SOFTEST WEEKEND SOCKS
Here's the thing...We love all those cozy fleeces and sweaters because they are soft. No one says we can't wear at least one soft thing, but still be temperature appropriate. So, let that one thing be your feet and we will now introduce you to the World's Softest Weekend Socks.

OMG. These things feel like angels spun them from their wings, and the Fall gods gifted them to us as a reward for all things humid. So crank down the AC, grab one of the many fabulous pairs Findlay Rowe has in stock, and get ready for your feet to live their best Fall life.

OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING
While we joke about Fall days still being hot, we are blessed with the fact that Fall nights tend to lack the humidity and mosquito mafia that ruins outdoor dining in the thick of Summer. Eliminating those hurdles, Southerners flock to patios everywhere, and outdoor entertaining is enjoyable until at least December.

With that we come prepared with not one, but three must haves that we put on our Fall Favorites list. First is the Brumate Insulated Canteen. This thing can fit an entire bottle of wine (or 24oz of any beverage of choice), and keep any liquid both hot or cold for several hours. So from dining al fresco to tailgating to sidelines at fall ball, it's got you covered. Not to mention it comes in a ton of cute colors and patterns.

Second on the list, is Beatrice Ball serving pieces. These are a year round favorite, but when you start moving your parties outdoors, or want something cute to display that tailgate treat on, they are life changing. Beatrice Ball makes their products out of melamine, so if in the event there is a stumble or a dropped dish, no messy clean-up!

Third, grab yourself a charcuterie board! Findlay Rowe has a ton of great options in stock. From small to oversized. From wood to ceramic. From encountrements to serving accessories. They have all your charcuterie needs, and nothing partners better with Fall than a beautiful board of cheese. Nothing.

BAREFOOT DREAMS
From cool bus stop mornings to crispy Friday game nights and everything in between our go-to bonus layer is a Barefoot Dreams cardigan. This is literally one of the best purchases we have ever made for our wardrobes.

Barefoot Dreams cardis are made of the dreamiest feeling fabrics, and with the variety of trendy styles available, you won't look like you're great-grandma's favorite accessory next time you need a little extra warmth.

THEMED HOLIDAY DECOR
Just because we can't frolic in our plaids, doesn't mean we haven't been spreading our Fall everywhere. Particularly - our homes!

Fall decor, Game day decor, Halloween decor, Thanksgiving decor...the options are endless and some weeks we even get the joy of doing a little of at least three of these categories. So next time you see a cute Fall outfit shared on that popular show based out of New England, just remember this is the South and the tables are topped and our homes are popped!!
