Kitchen Confessions: Easy Christmas Treats

Need last minute treats for Christmas? I have just the thing for you today!  My kids love helping in the kitchen and baking is their absolute favorite thing to do. I don't do it near enough for various reasons, but have really been making an effort to do more in the kitchen with my kids.  Blondie guilted me into it recently when she told me every time she goes over to a friend's house for a playdate they bake.  She then proceeded to tell me we never bake, which isn't true, but I guess to her we aren't doing it enough.

When we were in NC this past weekend the kids fell in love with this treat my mom had made and begged to make some of our own.

No mixing, no measuring, and no mess.  Why yes, we can certainly do that kind of "baking" I thought to myself.  In fact, I usually make a similar treat every Christmas with a Rolo and pecan on top (see directions HERE), and this is a very kid friendly twist on that favorite of ours.

This recipe (if you can even call it that) is so simple and easy. Just 3 ingredients and it goes together in just minutes.

Ingredients:
Waffle Shaped Pretzels
Hershey Hugs
M&M's

Directions:
1.  Spread pretzels on cookie sheet.
2.  Place Hugs on top of pretzels.
3.  Bake at 325 degrees for 3-4 minutes or until chocolates begin to soften.
4.  Remove from oven and place a M&M on top of each melted Hug.
5.  Cool in refrigerator to harden and enjoy!

I put the kids to work unwrapping the Hershey's Hugs...

...and then they were busy spreading out the pretzels.

 Waiting on Hugs to melt.

And our final product!  So yummy and more importantly, so easy!
