Celebrating Easter

Happy Monday!  We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and an especially great Easter Sunday yesterday.  We sure did!  My kids were up early and excited to see what the Easter Bunny had left in their baskets.  They were too fast and I wasn't able to get a picture before they dug into them, but some of their favorites were new movies (Big Hero 6, Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast and the new Annie), hair accessories and new flip-flops for the girls and by far Boo-Boo's favorite things were finger lights and new Ninja Turtle action figures.

Since we were up early we quickly got ready to head to the the early service at our church.  It was a beautiful morning and a beautiful service!

Then we made it home and I bribed my kids with candy so they would pose for a few more pictures.

And of course the Ninja Turtles had to be in the pictures, too. :-)  Don't even ask about the carabiner that is attached to Boo-Boo's belt loop.  He has had it on all weekend and refuses to take it off. He wears it proudly and it's one of those battles that just isn't worth fighting.

The kids watched one of their new movies while I finished up dessert for our Easter dinner.  I made these simple and cute little Rice Crispy Treat nests filled with jelly beans.  It's a good thing they looked cute because they were hard as a rock! I still don't know where I went wrong (and the weird thing is I make Rice Crispy Treats all the time and never have this problem).  We still ate them though and the kids didn't seem to mind one bit.

Next we made our way to Gigi and Papa's house for their annual egg hunt!  They always go all out with hiding the eggs and the kids absolutely love it.  They love the thrill of running around to collect as many eggs as possible.

But what they really love most are the golden and glitter eggs because they know what is waiting inside...$!

Before we ate dinner, the kids spent the afternoon outside enjoying the nice weather and the fun new toys that Gigi had for them. By far, their favorite entertainment was with this giant inflatable ball.  See that little hole?  There is actually one on each side and you can guess what that means...kids climb inside of this and can roll all around.  How fun is that?!?

This was literally HOURS of entertainment and it held up to 4 kids playing rough with it all day long.  They seriously loved it and somehow it came home with us.  I'm still not sure where we will keep it, but they are already excited about getting it out tomorrow and playing with it more.

We are on Spring Break this week and we are all so excited about sleeping in a bit, having some downtime, and enjoying the gorgeous spring weather.  This afternoon the Mr. and I are off to The Masters for a few days and I can't wait to see the beautiful landscaping and great golf!
