Happy Friday! We are linking up this week with Momfessionals for Friday Favorites. Today marks the last day of our Spring Break, and it has been nothing short of amazing. It was relaxing and fun, and I am so sad the week has quickly come to an end.
Our school did Spring Break a week earlier than the rest of Atlanta this year, so we know a large part of you will be on Spring Break starting this afternoon. Wahoo!
In honor of Spring Break, we thought we would share some of our favorite Spring Break Beach essentials.
5 FAVORITE SPRING BREAK BEACH ESSENTIALS
1. Collapsable Wagon - Any parent knows a trip to the beach with kids means you are going to work off every luxurious calorie you consume in cute umbrella fruity drinks by simply carrying all your stuff to the beach. For parents, long gone are the days of simply bringing to the beach a towel, your beach chair, and a cooler. Years ago Carrie Beth and I were on what seemed like the world's longest trek in deep, hot sand, arms loaded down with nine bags and four children (Little Cute had yet to make her arrival) when we saw this man happily wheel all his stuff across the beach. He set it up before we even got to the waterline. He had this collapsable wagon, and talk about life changing. I don't think I've ordered something so fast in my life. Seriously...LIFE CHANGING!
2. A Good Beach Bag - My absolute favorite beach bag of all time is the canvas tote from Land's End. I have one in every size, but my go-to is usually the extra large one. It has a ton of pockets, is roomy enough to throw everything in you can possibly need, and has a clip to attach your keys, or zip in your hotel key. If that's not enough to love it, it comes in tons of colors and is also monogrammable. :)
My favorite ones for kids are these fun Pottery Barn hooded towels. My kids love the different combos and fun characters they come in. I also love their tunics and diaper covers for babies. All come in colorful patterns and are monogrammable. (Noticing a pattern?)
Hooded towels and fun terry cover-ups are fun for kids, but here are some of my favorite cover ups for women this season. (Click on the photo for details and pricing.)
That pink and mint tassel one might have to come home with me!
4. Safe and Healthy Sunscreen - Nothing is worse that getting burnt on vacation...except kids getting burnt on vacation. I always make sure to pack tons of sunscreen, and love the Babyganics line. It's light, easy to apply and non-toxic. I also love that the Babyganics line offers these little on the go tubes. I discovered them last summer and they are the perfect size when you want to grab something quick to throw in your purse, or if sizing down to a smaller bag for the day it was great to save space instead of carrying around a large tube.
To save bag space, I usually use the same sunscreen as the kids, but one of my favorite adult sunscreens is Coola. It is light and non-greasy, which is a must when it comes to my face. I hate white, cakey sunscreen.
5. Flip Flops - What would be a spring break beach trip with out flip flops? I have tons of flip flop favorites and all winter look forward to the day it's warm enough for my feet to enjoy the comfort of this fun style. Eliza B. are some of my absolute favorite flip flops. They are customizable and come in 100's of different color combinations. And they are super comfortable! (Note: They run a little small so order a half size larger.)
Here are some of my other favorite flips-flops for this season (click on the photo(s) for details):
Gorgeous pink flamingo photo! Taronga Zoo in Sydney hasn't had any pink flamingos there for over a decade! Although we were lucky enough to see them at Beijing Zoo. We're currently enjoying a staycation at home in Sydney for our Easter vacation.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! And before I forget, I agree about the pink and mint tassel coverup. I've had my eyes on that one for quite some time..i just wish it was a little more affordable! ha! But your list is making me excited for our beach trip. However, my hubs has a vacation coming up in April and we will be using it as a staycation and I'm equally excited about that!
ReplyDeleteHave a great wknd and Happy Easter!!
This shows you want mommy brain will do to you! I totally thought it said $28 and not $218! Holy moly! A girl can dream :)

ReplyDeleteHi! Stopping by from Mom Bloggers Club. Great blog!
Have a nice day!
Thank you for stopping by!!
DeleteA collapsible wagon is definitely on my wishlist. There's so much use we'd get out of having one of those.
ReplyDeleteIt is life changing! Who knew kids required so much stuff! And for tired little legs we've noticed it fits two or three kids comfortably too if they are smaller.
DeleteEvery year I say I'm getting the wagon and every year I fail to do it. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the year!!!! PS I love the baby's elephant cover up and would really like one for mama! Have a fab weekend! xoxox Amanda @ ABW
