Easy S'Mores Dip Recipe

Now here's a recipe I can't believe I've never shared before - the S'mores Dip Recipe! I've made it a million times. After I shared a peek of this one I made on Stories over the weekend, friends kept messaging for the recipe. I woke up to at least 20 messages asking for it. I was going to just forward a past post, and realized I didn't have one.

What?!

Well that gets rectified today!

The S'mores Dip is SO easy to make. It can also be altered in a ton of ways. I always use grahams to dip with, but you can also get creative with fruit, pretzels, etc.

It's a total crowd pleaser, and if you have any left over it's easy to reheat and serve again next day.

S’MORES DIP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag of marshmallows (large or small)
  • 1 box of graham crackers (I usually grab the regular and a box of the chocolate)
  • Optional: Reese’s, Snickers, other chocolate candies

**Note: I use 8x8 foil pans for this. I’ve used glass dishes and iron skillets which work just as good, but are tough to clean between the marshmallow and melted hardened chocolate. The foil pans are easy to reheat and a quick throw away when done.

INSTRUCTIONS

1: Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.

2: Line pan with a layer of your chocolate.

3: Top chocolate with marshmallows.

4: Bake in oven for approximately 5-8 mins or until chocolate is melted.

5: Turn on broiler for 1 minute to toast the marshmallow.

Serve and enjoy!

S'mores Board Birthday Party Idea

Planning a birthday party over the past year has proven to be a difficult feat. With pandemics and quarantines and social distancing and everyone on different levels of comfortability - birthday party planning requires a certain finesse. Mostly because while kids understand that this year is "different", they still want to do a celebration of some sort for their big day. And we can't blame them. 2020 needed all the happy it could get.

I love that drive by parties were super popular in the beginning of the year and over the course of the Summer. The Summer also lent for small pool gatherings and outside parties to occur. But now that temps are cooler - Winter birthdays prove a little tricker to plan.

I thought I would quickly share this idea that L.C. came up with for her birthday. She turned 7 at the end of October and girl wanted to celebrate. All on her own she came up with the idea of having a s'mores party.

No cake. No candles. A way to stay warm, but still be outside. A way to physically distance but still be social. For photos I took a few things out of the packages, but for the most part food could stay individually packaged as well.

I remembered a few years ago Carrie Beth and I created a s'mores bar, and how easy it was.

(Side note: If you haven't tried a s'mores made with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup you haven't really lived!)

It was the easiest little party to create and everyone had a great time putting together their own s'mores concoctions.

I ordered these super long bamboo s'mores sticks so that even our tiniest of guests that stopped by would be safe. They worked so well that I ordered another pack to have on hand for whenever we get the fire pit going and the kids want a s'mores on the fly.

It was such an easy and fun birthday party idea, that I think even when we get beyond all these Covid days I'll use it again.

Have you had to plan a pandemic birthday? What have been some of your favorite ideas that you have seen to still be able to celebrate safely?

Summer S'mores Bar

Celebrate Summer! Create this fun s'mores bar for your next pool party, campout, sleepover, or cookout. Such a fun summer dessert idea!

We're officially on summer break!!!  Yesterday was my kids' last day of school and we couldn't be more excited about it. We just love summer around here.  The relaxed schedule, the break in sports and the time to just spend more time with family and friends is the best.  One thing we always do more of this time of year is grilling out with friends.  We love having friends over and when we do that usually includes a lot of kiddos at our house.  By far our favorite after dinner dessert is S'mores.  Not only is it a dessert, but an activity for the kids, too.

We've learned a thing or two along the way and know that having everything ready and prepped ahead of time helps anxious kids get their little hands on the sticky goodness sooner.

Plus, some fun ingredients help put a yummy twist on traditional S'mores.  Kids love getting creative and picking out their favorites.
