Georgia Swarm Lacrosse Fan Appreciation Giveaway

We are so excited about this quick giveaway we have for you guys! We were given the opportunity to see the Georgia Swarm Lacrosse team play a few months ago, and over Spring Break we were invited back. We had such a blast at our first game, we couldn't wait to go back.

The Swarm put on several theme nights throughout the season and at this particular game it was "Ladies Night" complete with a special diamond necklace drop. 

The game was highly entertaining, energetic, and exciting because the Swarm took home a W and already have their sights set on the Playoffs where they hope to bring the trophy back home to Atlanta- again! 

It was an amazing game, and an experience our kids will remember for a long time. They love the atmosphere of the Swarm games. From the constant music pumping through the stadium, to the fast paced game filled with unbelievably athletic players, and the chance to do the Swarm celebration dance every few minutes (because our home team knows how to score some goals) - the Swarm games are now one of their top sporting event requests. 

We have a blast and we chatted with our friends at the Swarm to cook up a little surprise for you. We teamed up for a fun little giveaway so that you guys can join in all the lacrosse fun too!

The Georgia Swarm

Okay friends, how did I not know we had a professional lacrosse team in Atlanta?! Not only did I not know about the Georgia Swarm, I didn't know they were the NLL World Champions in 2017!

I'll be honest, I know very little about lacrosse. A few friends played in high school, but I've never attended a game, let alone a professional one. The popularity of the sport is increasing in our area, and kids are starting to get into it younger. As a sports lover I've always been intrigued. So when the Georgia Swarm asked if we would like to attend a home game as a media guest we hopped at the chance to both see a live game and learn more about it. 

The Swarm play out of Infinite Energy Center just north of Atlanta. I learned that they are the only team part of the NLL to have a home base in the south. The next closest team is in New York. In fact, almost all of the teams in the NLL are based out of the northern states and Canada. I love that they chose the peach state to represent the southern fan base. 

And now after attending a game, I hope they never leave. 

Y'all it was SO. MUCH. FUN. From the minute we sat down in our seats, I we were entertained. 

The game is so face paced and reminds me a little bit of hockey. Cute loved it right off the bat, and has already asked repeatedly (1.) when he can play lacrosse? and (2.) when he can see another game? 

 We spent the first three quarters in lower level seats which had an awesome view of the field, but for the fourth quarter decided to change it up a bit. We were given Goal Zone passes as part of our media package and I wanted to check out that view too. 

The Swarm Goal Zone section resides at one end zone of the field. It has designated on-glass rows of seats, a spectacular view, and a bar with specialty cocktails. It also has a large stage for any surprise performers that might appear. 

I mentioned the view was amazing right?! 

Cute loved feeling like he was in on all the action. You get such an up close view of the game and the players! 

Right after I took this picture, two players slammed into the glass battling for the ball. Cute was beyond pumped after that. 

I had no clue lacrosse was such an intense game. I mean, they wear pads and some protective gear, but there's wrestling, checking, and flying sticks. Not to mention a tiny hard little ball flying around at such a fast speed. These players are tough.  

And they put it all out there which only adds to the excitement of the game. 

New Sting City shirt and merchandise was unveiled on Feb. 9th. I got an early sneak peek at the new line. 

I learned the Georgia Swarm fans love their players, and are beyond supportive of their home team. The cheering, chanting, and rallying never stops the entire time. And I get it. It's a wild and super fun sporting event experience. Everyone I brought to the game with me agrees and now the Georgia Swarm has a dozen new fans. 

Cute being the biggest of them all. As I was finishing up some things in the Goal Zone, he spotted the Swarm's goalie Mike Poulin. He ran right over, and even though Poulin was "off the clock" and trying to spend time with friends and family who came to support him during the game, he took the time to chat with Cute and take a few photos. 

Cute was so excited. I've literally heard every day how he needs to go back to game to see his friend Mike. Poulin and the Swarm have a fan for life. 

We can't wait to head back to Sting City to check out another home game. There are still a few left in the season with some fun theme nights thrown in too.

Girls Night Out Idea {Board & Brush East Cobb}

Last week was a doozy!  Just a crazy busy week so we were really happy that we had planned a girls night Friday night. It was the perfect way to end the week and start the weekend.  

We had made plans to visit Board & Brush East Cobb and had THE.BEST.TIME!!!  The owner, Sarah, was SO very sweet and super helpful during the workshop.  

We've both had friends that have been, but this was our first experience there and we weren't really sure what to expect except that we knew we'd be making wooden signs that we picked out.  

You pick out your design in advance so they can have all of the materials prepped and ready for you.

There were SO many cute designs and different things we wanted to make.  After seeing them all in person hanging on the walls of the studio, it made us love them all even more.  

We loved that we could request who we wanted to sit with so that we knew our group would all be at one table.  As we arrived, we checked the stencils they had prepared, opened our wine (they are BYOB which makes the night even more fun), and got ready to craft away.  

The ladies assisting with the class were so helpful and constantly were coming around to ask if we had questions and were there to help us along.  

We got to use several different tools to distress our boards as much or as little as we wanted.  That part was loud, but fun!  

Then it was time to put the boards together and start staining.  It was fun to see all of the different stains and how two people could be making the exact same design, but the finished products would look totally different just because of their color choices.  

The painting part was way easier than we had expected.  The stencil makes it really easy and it is basically foolproof.  

They have a TON of colors to choose from...pretty much anything you could want! 

We loved our finished products and were so happy with the way they turned out.  

We've already made plans to go back and can't wait to make some more signs!

Super Bowl Weekend Is HERE

Super Bowl weekend is here!!!  We are so excited to be able to take part in a lot of the fun Super Bowl festivities this weekend and having it all in our backyard makes it that much better!  

I was lucky enough to go to my first Super Bowl a few years ago in San Fransisco and then again in Houston.  There is something special about being in the heart of these cities and being surrounded by all of the excitement.  Seeing the city we love and the one we call home be able to host the big event is something I'm thrilled to be able to be a part of.  

Buildings are wrapped, hotels are packed and Centennial Olympic Park has been transformed into Super Bowl Live.

There are people everywhere and it is completely free to enter!  It is filled with different exhibits, performers, athletes and and sculptures. 

We checked out the Deion Sanders sculpture by New York artist, Michael Murphy. He was commissioned to design the piece that represents the amazing Deion Sanders from two different perspectives.  Depending on how you look at it you can see the football player from one angle and the baseball player from another angle.  

I grew up cheering for the Braves and the Falcons and watching athletes like Deion Sanders.  I find his story of playing both sports professionally  so impressive.  ESPN has introduced their new 30 for 30 film, “Deion’s Double Play.” The film takes viewers back to October of 1992 when Sanders attempted to play a pro football game and a baseball game in the same day. In different cities.  I mean, I am in charge of transportation of athletes in our household and I know how tricky those logistics can be.  Can you even imagine getting someone from one city to a completely different one for professional sports?!? You can learn more about the film HERE.
