Peloton {Why I Love It}

I never wanted a Peloton.

It's true that I really never wanted a Peloton. The Mr. had been wanting one for over a year and really wanted me to want one also to justify the cost.  I just didn't though because I didn't like the idea of working out at home.  At the time I really enjoyed the barre classes that I went to and didn't have any desire to ride a Peloton.  In fact, we have an entire workout room in our basement that before the pandemic I didn't step foot into once.  The Mr. used it daily, but for me when I was at home I was always busy doing something else.  Well, like almost everything, when the pandemic hit and we were literally stuck at home for days on end that all changed.  I started using our workout space at home and enjoyed not having to drive somewhere for classes.  I think eventually I mentioned maybe once in passing that I "might" use a Peloton if we ever had one.  That was it though. I wasn't saying it because I really wanted one and I certainly wasn't hinting at anything. I never really gave it much thought, but the Mr. ran with that one little comment because my 40th birthday rolled around and what do you know...I was surprised with a Peloton!

Why I Love It
I started riding it and immediately fell in love.  I couldn't believe I went so long thinking I wouldn't want to own one. From the fun music to the inspiring instructors, the competitive factor to the accountability, and the variety of class options, it's really changed the way I look at and feel about working out.  From pretty much day one I was sucked in and totally hooked.

I love that I can pick the length of class that I want based on how much time I have.
You can search for classes based on instructor, music, type of workout and length. My days stay pretty packed and I've almost always got somewhere to be later on so I like that I can base my rides off how much time I have. Most often I do a 30 minute cycle class and then add on either a 10 minute arms or 10 minute core class after.  That was something I didn't know about Peloton. I thought it was all cycle, but they have so many other options like strength and stretching, too. Sometimes I'll do a 45 minute interval class that incorporates cycling and arms all in one, but I kind of like separating the two instead.

I love the music.
There have been SO many songs that I've been reintroduced to that I completely forgot about.  90's rides are my jam and take me back to my high school days.  I have been known to belt out a tune while riding and while you might think that makes you feel like a fool, it actually makes working out so much fun. If the music in a class isn't good, I'm just not going to enjoy it as much.  One day during virtual learning I was determined to get a workout in and my son came down needing some help with a math assignment.  He sat on the ground while I kept riding and singing along. He stared up at me in disbelief asking, "You actually know this song?!?" It made me laugh so hard because it was something he'd never heard before, but was probably one of my favorites from back in the day.

I love the themed rides.
Some people ride to try and beat their personal records. Some people ride to try and get on the leaderboard.  Other's do it strictly for an intense workout.  I ride because I know swimsuit season is right around the corner and I know it's good for me, but I want it to be fun! You know what's fun...themed rides.  Brittany Spears and Backstreet Boys rides? A Cher or Whitney Houston ride? Greatest Showman and Broadway tunes rides?  YES, YES, YES! I love them all.  They are just fun and you almost don't realize that you are even working out.

I love that I save time not driving to and from the gym.
My opinion of this totally changed because I used to be in camp I have to leave the house to workout, but now I love being able to workout at home. It saves me so much time and I'm able to squeeze it in when I otherwise wouldn't be able to. I do miss going to classes and seeing friends there, but the saving time thing is so much more important to me.  Plus, so many of my friends have Peloton's now.  While it isn't the same as chatting with them before or after a barre class, it is fun to be able to talk about our favorite classes, instructors, etc.

My Favorite Instructors
In the beginning I didn't really know anything about any instructors so just went at it blindly picking based on the type of class or type of music.  I quickly learned that for me the instructor can make or break the class.  You can either be smiling and singing along, feeling motivated and encouraged, and half-way forget that you are working out. OR, you can feel like it is the longest ride of your life and swear to never get on that bike again.  There are TONS of instructors and something for everyone.

My very favorite ever is Ally Love.

She is super positive, really encouraging and her giant smile is infectious. I often find myself smiling SO big during her classes because she always has a giant smile on her face.  She is really good at pushing you just a little more than you thought you could go and then acting genuinely proud of you for doing it.  I know sounds crazy because she can't really see you and the rides I do are all on-demand, but just trust me!

Another instructor I love is Cody Rigsby.

If you want to laugh, he's your guy.  He is hilarious and I find myself laughing out loud during all of his classes.  He also picks great music and dances during his classes (all while on the bike!) and just makes it FUN!

Lastly, the third instructor I enjoy is Leanne Hainsby.

She has a sugary sweet personality, a British accent I love hearing, and her rides are just happy!  She also does a lot of themed rides, which are fun and they are always a great workout.

I'd love to know your thoughts on Peloton if you have one!  What classes do you like?  Who are your favorite instructors?  Tell me all the things!

Best At Home Work Out Resources (for Adults & Kids!)

Whew! Well this week has been a doozy. We are pretty sure if you asked us a few weeks ago if we thought kids would be out of school for weeks (months?) on end, businesses would close down, grocery stores would resemble something from the Hunger Games, and toilet paper would be the hottest commodity of 2020, we would have laughed and laughed at you.

But, thanks to Coronavirus-pacalypse times have a changed.

We have tried to keep the very best attitude about it all. And for the most part we have succeeded. Luckily, our kids seem pretty ignorant to what is going on in the world, and their concerns are mostly limited to...

"Why am I home, and still have to do work?"

"Why can't I play with my friends?"

"Why can't I go to Target/Starbucks/soccer/cheer/Taco Restaurant?"

and, my personal favorite, "What do you mean I can't have another snack?!!!!"

Carrie Beth shared on Monday her homeschool daily schedule, and we realized having some sort of routine is what is going to make us all survive this Coronavirus Quarantine party none of us wanted the invite to. But remembering to also throw in a little self-care into the mix for our mental health is also a great idea.

We have some great suggestions from Book Club for reading, but with our gyms now closed as well, we did some research on great at-home work outs. Here are some great ones we found for the whole family. Some we've already given a try - and love!

(And since we are already wearing our sweat pants all day every day, it can't hurt to throw in 20 mins of exercise a day, right?)

  • Peloton App - Free for 90 days! Okay, we thought this was just to use with a Peloton bike. It's not. It has tons of great workouts - yoga, strength training, running, etc.
  • Pure Barre Go - Free 30-45min workouts streamed  Live on Facebook (but can watch/participate anytime). No equipment needed.
  • Zumba for Kids - Free Zumba mini-lessons geared towards kids, but great cardio moves for adults too. We did this together and it was so fun!
  • Bulldog Online - Free yoga classes for 60 days with code EXTEND60.
  • Fitness Blender on YouTube - Free and SO GOOD! This was a reader suggestion, and we can't believe it wasn't in our life before now. Hundreds of videos for all skill levels as well as time frames. There is a fun kids workout available too!
  • Blogilates - Free! Great pilates workouts ranging in short and long workouts. Super fun, and easy to do from home.
  • Core Power Yoga - Free yoga workouts.
  • Maggie Brinkley Workouts - 15 minute, equipment free workouts. Free on Amazon Prime video if a member or sign-up for a 30-day free trial. Also there are rent/purchase options as well.
  • Beach Body on Demand - This was a reader suggestion. 1,100+ videos to choose from, but with monthly membership.
  • GymPass - Free for 60 days. Beyond workouts they have meal plans and mental health support.
  • Go Noodle for Kids - Great free movement classes for kids! Our school uses these for "brain breaks", but the kids have loved doing them at home.

We would love more suggestions! If there are any that you do at-home and love, share with us! We will update this list as we find and try more!

Stay healthy friends!

Curves Strong

Thank you Curves International for sponsoring this post.  Ready to get #CurvesStrong?

Just about a month ago we started our workout journey at Curves® and it has been a fun, positive, and successful month.  We went into this month excited to really learn what Curves® is all about and discovered that it is so much more than just exercise.

The Workout

The workout at Curves® is set up as a circuit type of training.  You alternate between cardio and hydraulic resistance machines to help keep your heart rate up.  Each machines is set up strategically focusing on both upper and lower body muscles for a full body workout.

Music is playing and there is an announcement when it is time to move on to the next station.  It's so easy you literally have someone telling you when to move on.  We were not familiar with hydraulic machines at first and on our first attempt they seemed too easy.  Then we learned that the faster you do the machine the more resistance you will receive making it great for anyone at any age or fitness level.

The other piece of the puzzle is the cardio.  In between each machine are the cardio stations and there you can alter the cardio for your needs.  If you really want an intense workout you can do quick high-knees running in place for 30 seconds, but if that isn't your speed you could even just march in place.  It is all about what works for your fitness level!

You repeat the circuit twice and then do the pre-determined stretching and that gives you the 30 minute workout. We loved that we could get in and out in a half an hour and still feel like we got a great workout.

The Support

When we first joined Curves® we were so impressed with the amount of support we received!  The women who work there are truly invested in what they do and they are so encouraging and supportive of each and every person.  It doesn't matter if you are brand new or a regular, they come and check on each person, make sure they are using the machines properly and getting the most out of their workout.

We were given such great instructions and support as we made our way through the circuit the first few times that we knew exactly how each machine worked.  However, we never had to feel embarrassed or nervous to ask a question if we forgot how something worked.

They do a monthly weight and measurement session which makes some of us want to cringe, but it is really fantastic if you can get past seeing the numbers.  They help you to track and celebrate your progress each month which we absolutely loved!

The Community

Hands down the most amazing part of our Curves® experience was seeing and being part of the amazing community.  We met women both young and old who were from all walks of life, but they are what makes Curves® way more than a workout.  You may come in with a friend or you might visit alone for the first time, but we guarantee that no matter who you are you will walk out with a smile on your face and feeling like you've met a new group of friends.  The 30 minutes spent in this setting were some of the most positive, uplifting, entertaining and heart-warming minutes that we spent all week long. We laughed until we cried somedays and learned something new with each visit!

We met single women, married women, widows, mothers and even young soon-to-be mothers from another country living abroad for a few years.  The topics of conversations ranged from favorite football teams to meal-prep and holiday plans to fashion.  It didn't matter that we were new to this group, we were part of it and it felt so welcoming.  We wished that we had known about Curves® when we were brand new moms and just longing for some adult interaction because we would have gotten that and so much more at the time.

It was wonderful for us to be on this Curves® journey together because although we are best friends and talk (or text rather) on a daily basis, we don't always get to see each other all that often.  This really forced us to take time out of our busy schedules to do something for ourselves.  Something to take care of us and not just our kids and to spend some quality time together.

As we all know, moms just give and give and give to our families and often put ourselves last.  Being a part of Curves® is the perfect way to take a little time out for yourself and become a part of this amazing community, too!

Friday Favorites: End of School Year Edition

YES!!! We have officially called a wrap on the 2015/2016 school year! And this is how we feel about it...

Well that's how mommy feels about it. My kids love school, but summer means swimming, going to the beach, water balloons, and playing with their friends all day everyday - so they are are excited too.

Bye-bye alarm clock - see you in August!

Now to end the week with some of our favorites lately. Linking up as usual with some of our favorite bloggers today, and hold on because I've had a lot of favorites this week!

ONE
Cute graduated from pre-K! Oh my, wasn't he just born yesterday?? I've been ignoring the fact that he has gotten so big, but it hit me this week. We were able to participate in his end of the year party, where he and his friends played games, built legos, and generally ran around like the crazy boys that they are. Following the party we were able to watch a little graduation ceremony. I can't believe my sweet baby boy will be in kindergarten next year!

While it makes me sad to see how fast he is growing up, it definitely was one of my favorite moments this week.

TWO
Normally at the end of the year I make fun little themed gift baskets for the teachers, complete with a well coordinated printable. Well this year mama didn't have time for that!  I did find these super adorable stainless steel water bottles, and attached a gift card.

Seriously, how cute are these???
If I didn't live in the land of five million cups, and continuously have to battle my husband's Yeti obsession I totally would have grabbed one of these for myself. They had a ton of fun colors and patterns for summer.

THREE
Like the end of most school years, things have been crazy these last few weeks. Even though everything is fun, it is exhausting! It's been hard to sneak in even a few minutes of "me time" in anywhere to rejuvenate, but this week I made a conscience effort to do a little something here and there - even if it is just for a few minutes. I realize my sanity depends on it, and there is only so much wine drinking that is acceptable.

One of my favorite new finds is this Barre3 app. We've professed our love for barre classes before, but sometimes it's hard for me to work a class into my schedule. The app has some fabulous mini workouts, and most can be done in just minutes.

 I love the kitchen ones!

FOUR
Last week, Mr. Cute decided our house needed a technology upgrade. With that we switch cable providers, and I am absolutely clueless as to what any channels are, and long gone are some of my recorded shows. Everything is complicated and voice activated and completely overwhelming right now - not that I have much time to sit and actually watch TV. However, this little technology bump ended up causing one of my favorite moments this week.

Late the other night, I decided to sneak in a quick walk on the treadmill. Once I finally figured out how to turn on the TV, the first thing that popped up was one of my all time favorite movies - Sweet Home Alabama! I was able to catch the last 20 minutes of it, and I completely forgot how much I love that movie!

Fun fact: Part of the movie was filmed at the college I graduated from during my Freshman year. The white mansion throughout the movie was on our campus, and several students were even able to be extras during filming.

Second fun fact: It's also where Remember the Titans was filmed.

FIVE
Monday was particularly a crazy day. Normally this is my grocery shopping day, but last minute I had to take Baby Cute to the doctors and it took up a good portion of our free time. On our way home from our excursion, I was all prepared to order some pizza delivery when I pulled into the driveway and saw this...

(Hi Max! We see you!)
I thought I had paused our HelloFresh box for the week, knowing how crazy it would be, but I have never been so glad to be scatter brained in my life.

(Sausage Bolognese - with hidden veggies! The kids were clueless.)
Such a lifesaver, and so yummy!
I was totally able to put off my pizza delivery ordering until Wednesday. ;)

SIX
Our weather has been finicky here lately, but that hasn't stopped me from breaking out all the summer gear. For Mother's Day, Mr. Cute and the kids gave me these adorable flip flops

| Bag | Nail Polish | Earrings (similar) | Watch | Shorts | Scarf (similar) |
They were so excited because they were pink (my favorite color), but I'm so excited because they are SO comfortable! They feel and wear very similar to Rainbow flip flops. I usually wear a 6.5 and my husband grabbed these in a 7 and they are perfect! They also come in a ton of fun colors. Definitely my new favorite!

Ok, now to officially kick off our summer with a fun weekend ahead!

And we have some HUGE things for you next week to celebrate with us.
Seriously - HUGE!!!

We are so excited! Until then - Happy Weekend!!

Friday Favorites

What a week this was.  We continue to be pretty busy with end of the year stuff for school and it seems that every day we have something going on in someone's class.  Today I'll be helping out with field day all day!  We also have a very full, but very fun weekend ahead, so that is pretty exciting, too!  As usual, today we're linking up with some of our favorite bloggers for Friday Favorites.

~ONE~
So we might have mentioned this before, but Jen and I have the same goals of having a beautiful flower garden one day.  We've both realized that goal is something we will probably achieve when we are much older and have grown children, but it's fun to think about.

For now, I just enjoy the knockout rose bushes that are in our yard and how effortless they are!

~TWO~
Speaking of pretty blooms, the magnolia trees are blooming like crazy around these parts.  I just love driving around town and spotting our signature blooms.  This gorgeous one happened to be at the soccer fields this week.  And you know what???  As I got closer for a picture I saw a lucky little ladybug under one of the petals!  I figured that would bring the Magnolia Mamas good luck for sure.

Random little fact...I wanted to have magnolia flowers in my wedding, but because I got married in December that wasn't really an option.  Still one of my favorites though!

~THREE~
Earlier this week I was looking through some papers Little Mama brought home from school and I was dying at this questionnaire they filled out.  I think it had to do with the college/carrier day they have coming up.  I just loved that she wants to be a blogger like her mama.  (Oh and a cheerleader and veterinarian, too!)

~FOUR~
Not gonna lie...reaching single digits on our summer countdown was pretty darn exciting this week.  Summer is my FAVORITE season and I just love having the kids home with me.

~FIVE~
For Mother's Day I had really wanted a new phone, but I'm going to be getting one in the next few months (hopefully!).  Instead I had mentioned to the Mr. if I wasn't getting a phone I would like some new workout shorts.  Blondie told me prior to Mother's Day, "What Daddy got you isn't very good."  She was only saying this because she knew I really wanted a new phone.  Well, he delivered in a BIG way and surprised me with two paris of Lululemon shorts.  These are my first every Lululemon pieces and I was really excited.  Then I tried them on.  Holy moly they run small.  Blondie saw me trying them on and how tight they were on me and she said, "See, I told you it wasn't a good present!" Haha!  I was laughing so hard.  Thankfully, the nice people at Lululemon let me exchange them for bigger sizes.

I actually ended up going up 2 sizes, which is crazy to me, but I'm more about fit and how they look than the number on the size tag.  One size up fit, but they were super short.  Seeing as how I'm a 30 something mother of 3, I figured that might not be the best look. Only sharing all of this in case anyone is looking to order some.  Just adjust your sizing appropriately.

~SIX~
Last, but not least one of my favorite moments from the week was coming home to find this fun cookie bouquet on my doorstep.

Little Mama ran for student council and found out this week she didn't win.  It was a week long campaign and she put everything into it.  She was SO disappointed and it was one of those life lessons that I knew she would have to learn sooner or later, but was just hoping it would be later. After talking before bed a few nights ago we were both in tears and I was just really sad for her.  It's SO hard to see you child so upset and knowing it is just one of many times that they will have to deal with disappointments.  I did what any girl would do and confided in my BFF because I knew as a mom and a female, she would understand.  Then Jen does what she always does...goes out of her way to be thoughtful and kind and sent those cookies.

And that, my friends, is the thought I will leave you with for the week.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Fashion Fix: Active Wear

It's February, and we all know that we go into each new year having some idea of how we want to focus on our health. Whether that goal is eating healthier, working out more, trying a new fitness routine, getting your family to be more active, lose a few pounds...it is usually somehow in your mind following up the holidays (those darn holiday cookies!!).

No matter what your goal is, today's post is going to be all about our favorite active wear. Because let's be honest...

True story, right? :)

Looking cute might not be an essential part of a healthier lifestyle, but if you can look good while trying to feel good, there's no harm in that right?

Here are some of our active wear favorites for the whole family...

WOMEN'S

Shoes
Comfy shoes can make or break a workout! Nothing is worse than trying to mentally get through a run or walk when all you can think about are the blisters forming on your feet. We've run through a variety of shoe options but have fallen in love with these:

These Nike Flex shoes have been a go-to for almost a year now!

They have been great to run in and come a ton of fun bright colors! They are a lighter feel and slightly narrower, so if you have a wide foot I might steer clear of these.

For something a little wider over all, and maybe slightly a little better for all around use, I have loved these New Balance shoes

So much so that I've grabbed them in a few different colors (see below for black pair). New Balance shoes to me always hold up well, and tend to be comfortable walking and certain classwork at the gym.

Styles We Love
During cold weather months it is hard to stay motivated sometimes. Especially when your workout might be outdoors. Here are some of our favorites for staying warm during those chilly exercise sessions {click photos for details}...

During winter our go to favorites are still the compression leggings. We spoke of our love for these last year, but they really are our favorites! This pair is from last year, but we are loving the new ones available this season. They even come with a larger waist band for better comfort and fit!
(Side note: For postpartum moms, I have been loving this! Helps smooth out the "loose skin" in the middle section area right after baby.)

Staying warm on top is also important. We love nothing more than a good pull over, hoodie, or zip up jacket.

Mr. Cute purchased these Under Armour Cold Gear hoodies for me for Christmas and I love them.

They have been one of my favorite things to grab before heading out for a walk. He purchased me a size small, and even right up until 39 weeks pregnant I was able to wear them. They are pretty loose, so perfect for layering if you want to pull them off as you get into your run or workout. I own the pink and the black but they come in a ton of colors
When we aren't wearing comfortable tees with hoodies, be both tend to opt for sportier tees or dry fit style tees.

With Spring just around the corner, here are some favorites as well as some things on our wish list:

These cute polkadot shorts are so fun! We love them and love that the polkadots are actually  reflective, which make them not only cute, but functional for waking or running in the evening or early morning like so many moms do.

They even have a super cute leggings version!

And fashion post would not be worth posting if we didn't share a little Lilly Pulitzer right? We purchased these Luxletic shorts during the New Year's sale, and love them! Now if temps can get a little warmer - and stay warm - so we can wear them more often!

The rest of the Luxletic line is everything you would expect it to be. Bright, colorful, and super cute!

And while we are on the subject of super cute things on our athleisure wish list...we are loving these super cute leggings from Albion! They even have matching ones for our girls...L.C. included!

Looking cute in athletic wear is one thing. Looking cute while matching your mini-me is on a whole other level of fun! Everything from their website gives us the smiles.

MATERNITY & NURSING
Last year I (Jen), wrote about my love for certain active wear that I had found. I had lofty goals at the beginning of the year, and was constantly running about town in my favorite new workout pants in between my soccer mom duties, running, and barre classes. Mid-way through the year I found out I was pregnant and those fitness goals had to drastically change, but I still wanted to stay active (and comfortable!).

About mid-way through my pregnancy last year, I was able to try out the active wear from Belabumbum. I'm not going to lie. This line is super comfy, and made of high quality material. I absolutely loved how it was able to grow with my body throughout this pregnancy and I am able to use it even post pregnancy when I nurse.

This cami and these capris were on repeat a bunch following the months I received them. I ordered my normal sized and everything fit perfectly with room to grow.

I also loved these BeMaternity capris. I grabbed them sometime second trimester when the band on my normal workout clothes ended up becoming a little snug. I loved that these had a band that I could fold up and down as needed. They are super supportive and have been comfy the whole pregnancy. So much so that I grabbed the full length leggings as well.

One of my favorite maternity active outfits to wear was this pullover and coordinating pants. Once it became cooler it was nice to have a pullover I could put my hands through to get a little more warmth especially when I had a stroller to push. (Sorry for the bathroom selfie - it's a little hard taking a pic of yourself at 38+ weeks pregnant. That darn belly blocked everything. :) ).

I'm pretty petite normally and purchased an x-small, but wish I could go back and get a small just so it would be a little longer for later in pregnancy. On a recent trip back to the store I noticed they had an updated half zip with a few different colors and gathered sides - those who know the magic of a good ruched side will love these!

Now in past births these sports bras have been my absolute favorite! I love that they are inexpensive, a little thicker for better support (not to mention, convenient in case you might have a little leak if you are nursing - sorry male readers), and super comfy. They come in a variety of colors, and in those first few weeks of nursing were what I chose to wear almost exclusively. I highly recommend!

MEN'S
We're always joking that our active wear is generally from places like Target and Old Navy, while the guys like to experience the finer things in life...like Lululemon.  We're not even kidding. Here are some favorites brought to you by some of our favorite guys. ;)

Cb's Mr.
In case any of you want to treat your guys to something really nice they will totally love, check out these Pace Breaker shorts.  Mr. really loves this style!

Jen's Mr. Cute
Mr. Cute loves him some workout clothes so I had him narrow it down to his absolute must-haves. His first order of business surprised me. Apparently these are the equivalent to a ladies need for a sport bra.
Who knew men needed their own hidden support? :) Mr. Cute assures me these style of boxer briefs are great for protecting all things man parts during both workouts and running.

And while we are on the subject of the lower half, these are his favorite running shorts

And then for cold weather months these are his favorite pants to layer in. They are available in grey as well.

Another thing he said was a must for him was his backpack. He uses one similar to this army style one. He likes the backpack style that crosses over his body to keep weight distributed evenly over his body. He fills it with protein bars, his Crossfit shoes, a dry shirt and socks, his weight belt and wraps, and anything else he might need for a workout. Even though it looks small it holds a lot.

Socks also ranked high on the list. He prefers these low profile socks, and says they come in both white and black. See now here is a major place we differ from our husbands. Socks to us are socks. I usually buy a pack of this style sock when I think of it...or grab a pack from Target.

KIDS

Girls
I (Carrie Beth) don't know about where y'all live, but around these parts everyone wears workout wear all of the time, including the kids.  Little Mama loves dressing up in dresses and cute outfits, but she also loves her active wear and Blondie would wear "workout clothes" every single day if I let her.  One of their favorites are these cute shorts.  They are like the Nike or Lululemon style, but I'm going to let you in on a little secret...every single one of them is from Wal-Mart.  Yes, you read that right.  Wad-Mart has THE cutest shorts for girls.  They have tons of different styles and patterns and they are all under $5 each.  We have more expensive pairs and these Wal-Mart ones hold up just as well.  I often monogram them for the girls to add a little extra personalization to them, but if you have girls go check them out now!

They also love their active wear from Justice.  These clothes help them to represent their own personal sports and interests, while feeling cool and comfortable in their coordinating outfits. That boosts their confidence and their self-esteem, which is so important for young girls!

Boys
Boys athletic wear is a whole new realm for us. Now ours are still pretty young, but they love to wear their comfy clothes just like the rest of us. And as boys tend to do, they put their athletic wear through the ringer. Here are some of the things they said they loved:

Dry fit tees are a huge hit. Just like they are for men, our little boys love them too. Especially when they come with super hero themes on them!

They love to wear these for just lounging, sports, or when they are playing outside - especially when it is hot. They are starting to notice that older boys wear these all the time and keep pulling them out of the dresser first. Our preppy loving days are numbered we are sure.

Good sneakers are always important. Early on we put our little ones in these New Balance shoes. They were neutral enough they could wear them all the time, had a velcro enclosure so that they weren't tripping over laces, and best of all - washable.

Now that they are older we have been letting them pick their own shoes. Cute chose these Nike's at his last outing. Shockingly two of his close friends also have the exact same pair. :) They come in a ton of colors for both boys and girls.

We've only had them a few weeks, which is why they still look clean, but so far they have held up well - and that is saying a lot when Cute is involved. His quality control testing skills are impeccable.

And while this style makes us cringe it is a huge hit. Tall athletic socks.
This totally takes us right back to the 90's before short/hidden socks became the "in" thing. But we've learned the brighter the better.

ACCESSORIES
As mom's sometimes the accessories matter just as much as the activewear itself when we want to sneak a workout in. And who doesn't love accessories?

Most of our days we have at least a child or two (furry ones included) with us at all times. Working out at a gym sometimes just isn't as feasible with our schedules, but that's okay. We've learned that being outdoors for a quick walk or run is way more fun that tromping away on a treadmill inside.

One of the best accessories that we have ever purchased is our BoB Jogging Stroller. By now we each own a single and a double, but we've been a long time fan. It rides great both on the road and off the road, as well as the beach.
The only downfall is you have to buy additions for it if you would like a cup holder (in our opinion a must have!!), snack tray, or convert for your car seat to sit in it. It's definitely worth the money though if you plan on walking/running with your kids.

Another favorite accessory is this iPhone armband. We've had it about a year now and it has definitely with stood use and abuse. It comes in ten super cute colors and for under $6 you can't beat that!

Do you love active wear as much as we do?!?  Where do you buy most of your active wear?  Any favorite brands we should check out?  Leave us a comment and let us know!
