Friendsgiving with Findlay Rowe

Happy Monday friends! We had a crazy busy weekend filled with all sorts of holiday happenings. It starts earlier and earlier each year. But as we chatted over the weekend, we realize just how fun it all is. The anticipation and the excitement of the season. Right now it doesn't feel like a whole lot of pressure because Christmas is still six weeks away. So, for now, we get to just enjoy the sparkle of it all!

We kicked off the holiday season with a fun Friendsgiving event at Findlay Rowe, our favorite local boutique. They asked us a few months ago to host an event and do a little presentation for everyone.

Friday marked the day, and we woke up so excited! We were a little nervous about what we had planned and if it would entertain everyone, but we had a few tricks up our sleeves.

The store looked SO PRETTY! The Findlay Rowe ladies have outdone themselves this year on creating a holiday wonderland in their store. Their are seven gorgeous trees sprinkled throughout the store and everywhere you turn is a fun little holiday goodie or gift item. We couldn't help shopping ourselves!

The first part of our presentation was to discuss holiday entertaining and how to set your table with ease. The store has so many wonderful items on hand that the hardest part was limiting ourselves to not going overboard.

We showcased a few of our favorite serving items, and shared how easy it is to dress your table with just a few specialized pieces. The goal was to share how easy it can be to switch your decor from Thanksgiving to Christmas with just a quick adjustment or two. Less stress, and fuss leaves more time for celebrating!

Our back up plan if that wasn't entertaining enough was to craft a little holiday cocktail for everyone to enjoy.

Who can say no to shopping and drinking?!

Not these Mamas.

We loved all the little touches we pulled together, but one of our favorite was this Grat Pad Barbara shared with us...

How cute is it?! And so perfect for Thanksgiving...and every day after! Such a cute idea to share with guests. They would also make for a great Friendsgiving favor if you are hosting your own. Or something fun to give tweens/teens as a little conversation starter/reminder to see what they are grateful for each day.

They have several on hand in their store with a variety of designs available. Shoot them an email if interested for your own holiday (they ship!).

And speaking of grateful...

We are so so grateful to each and every one of you who came out to say hi to us! The weather was not the best and we just want you to know it means the world to us you braved the cold rain to come say hi and shop!

We had so much fun getting to know some of you in person and making new friends!

Our event had two parts - one in the morning and one in the evening. We left around mid-day to grab our kids from school, eat a quick lunch, change and redo our rain soaked hair, and then headed back.

The cocktail to say the least was a huge hit. The husbands who accompanied their wives declared it was "the best shopping experience of their lives.". We might be paraphrasing a bit, but you get the idea. ;)

For those of you who wanted the recipe for yourself - here it is...

Cranberry Ginger Moscow Mule

Serves: 8-10
Prep Time: 2 mins

  • 24 oz. of Ginger Beer
  • 15-20 oz. of vodka (we use Tito's.)
  • 20 oz. of Cranberry Juice
  • 1 pkg of whole cranberries
  • 2 cups of ice
  • Optional garnish: Sliced limes or sprigs of Rosemary

  • In a large pitcher mix ginger beer, vodka, and cranberry juice over ice.
  • Once well mixed add garnishes.
  • Tradition states you pour this in a copper mug!
  • Serve and enjoy!
Note: If making a single serving, use a 1 to 1 2oz. ratio for ginger beer, vodka, and cranberry juice.

Thank you again for all your support for what we do. We hope to have another event soon where we can see all your beautiful faces again!

If you have any suggestions on what kind of event you would like to see let us know!

And don't forget to stop by Findlay Rowe this holiday season and say hi to these two lovely faces! Findlay Rowe has a ton of events planned between now and the end of December! The store is over flowing with great gift ideas (stay tuned for a little peek at our favorite things!). From hostess gifts to teachers gifts to gifts for all the ladies in your lives - they've got you covered! Not to mention they can monogram most things!

See if you can resist grabbing yourself a little something or two to wrap under the tree! #guilty
