My middle Mini Magnolia turned 13 this weekend! I can hardly believe she is a teenager.

A friend and I were talking about gifts for our new teenagers and how they all really love having the "in" items to feel like they fit in with their friends. We were comparing ideas so I thought I'd share some of our favorite on-trend gifts for teens in case anyone else was looking for ideas. I had lots and lots of suggestions so decided to break it up into a few different parts. Today is all about some fun jewelry and accessories.

This was one of the top things on my daughter's birthday list. Everyone loves a good bracelet stack and these come in a bunch of different colors. I did a turquoise and off white for my daughter.

Teen Gift Idea {Favorite Color Gift Basket}

Last weekend my daughter was headed to a birthday party for one of her friends so that was a good excuse for us to go shopping! When I asked her what she wanted to get her friend she told me about the cutest idea she had seen online for a favorite color gift basket. After finding out what her friend's favorite color was (Aqua) we made our way to Target and went on the hunt for all things Aqua.

We hit up the accessories section, make up, nail polish, snacks, candy, school supplies and more! This gift was so much fun to shop for and even my son had fun looking for items that would match.

We took it all home, styled it cute in the basket with shredded paper filler on the bottom and then wrapped it up with clear wrapping paper and a big matching bow. It was the cutest and easiest thing to put together and I'm pretty sure we'll be giving this gift to all of my girls' friends in the near future!

Friday Favorites: Gift Ideas for Boys

Happy Friday!!! I always love seeing another weekend roll around, and this one came especially quickly since it was a 4-day school week. If you have kids then your weekends are likely to involve some birthday parties. I feel like it sort of comes in waves, but the birthday party circuit is going strong around here. Often times we just do gift cards for my kids' friends, but if I'm feeling on top of it I will stock up on gifts to have on hand. Today for Friday Favorites I thought it might be kind of fun to share some of our favorite gift ideas for boys. Some of these are items my son has had for a while and some are gifts they he got for Christmas and has just LOVED.

1. Cotton Candy Maker ($29.99) and Supplies ($18.99): My son got this cotton candy maker for Christmas and all of my kids have loved it! It's so fun to see the cotton candy form right in front of their eyes and also a fun treat to make when they have friends over. It's small enough to stick under a cabinet or in your pantry when you aren't using it and I have been impressed with how well it works and how easy it is to clean up when they are done.

2. Slushy Maker Cup ($23.99): My kids all over these slushy maker cups. You keep the inner cup part in the freezer and when you are ready to make a slushy you put whatever kind of drink you want in it and continue stirring/scrapping the sides for about 5-10 minutes until it is frozen. It's a fun after school treat and perfect in the summer when it is SO hot!

3. Dig It Up Dinosaur Eggs ($25.99): These little eggs each contain little dinosaur figurines and the kids have to chip away using the given tools to find what is inside. This kept my son entertained for what felt like HOURS. He loved seeing what was in each one. It's a bit messy so I would recommend setting them up outside or make sure you cover their work surface, but such a fun activity.

4. Alexa Echo Dot ($34.99): Quite possibly one of his favorite gifts was his Echo Dot which he calls his Alexa. I hear him up in his room talking to Alexa all the time. He asks her what the weather is, he uses it as his alarm clock, he has it play music and he just talks to it like a friend. When he leaves he tells Alexa goodbye and she tells him jokes, sings him songs, etc. It was so easy to set up using my Amazon account and my daughters already had them so he loves being able to "drop in" on their rooms to talk to them. I was hesitant about him having one, but it has been the the greatest!

5. Alpha Rouge Blaster with Scope ($9.97): My son will get hooked on something and WILL NOT stop talking about it. He played with this dart gun at a friend's house and when he came home it was all I heard about. We searched and searched and finally found it! He spent some of his Christmas money on it and has used it every day since. It isn't a NERF brand, but it fits the NERF darts and he loves it because of the scope and the way it loads the darts. It is a great value and has held up really well, even with all of his rough play.

6. Over the Door Basketball Hoop ($24.99): This is one of those things we have had for several years now and something he still uses daily. We used to keep to in our playroom, but moved it to the back of his bedroom door and he will constantly shoot baskets when he is getting ready for bed or when he is just hanging out in his room. He'll try all sorts of different "trick shots" from all over his room. It has little rubber backers so it doesn't damage the door.

7. Zipline ($99.95): This one is definitely pricier, but would be a great gift to get your own child for a birthday if you have the space for it. We installed this just after Christmas and all of the kids love riding on it. It is a legit zipline and I couldn't get over having something like this in our yard! Such a fun thing for kids to play on and something that will keep them outdoors!

8. Dino Fossil Kit ($7.99): I was SO impressed with this National Geographic Dino Fossil kit. My son LOVED using the little tools and chipping away to find the treasures inside. Every kit contains part of a dinosaur tooth, bone and even dino poop which he got a kick out of. This would be a fun add on to a gift since the price is so affordable or you could buy several and use it as a party activity for your dinosaur loving kids! They make several other similar kits (gemstones, shark fossils, fools gold) and I imagine they would all be just as good.

Tween Girl Gift Guide

Thanksgiving break is behind us and that means we are in full blown Christmas mode now. Our decorations are up, our trees are trimmed and the shopping has begun!

When my girls were little they would be excited about the latest American Girl catalog arriving so they could circle all their favorites and wish for what Santa would bring them. My oh my how times have changed. Now I get texts from them with links to specific items they want. A part of me misses those days of a catalog and marker, but I will say it is nice to have specific links to shop from. I like knowing for sure that I'm getting what they want. I have no shortage of ideas for them this year and they are probably the easiest ones on my list to shop for!

I put together a quick little Tween Girl Gift Guide in case any of you are in search of the perfect gift for the tween in your life. Maybe a niece, neighbor, friend or daughter that you just aren't quite sure what to get. Heck, Half the things on their list could easily be on my list, too! They have nice taste!

1. Water Bottles - They carry water bottles with them everyday to school and sports, so having a new one is always fun. Their favorites are Swell, Corcksicle, or this Contigo style.

2. Wireless Headphones - They are constantly listing to their music or watching YouTube videos!

3. Vans - How very hip of them, right? Vans aren't just for skaters anymore. All the kids are wearing these now.

4. Sherpa Pullovers - We shared about these pullovers a while back and the kids still love them. At this price, I'm going to grab them another and throw a monogram on it!

5. Facial Cleansing Brush - Never too early to start practicing good skincare practices. Plus, these make washing your face fun!

6. Caboodles - They are back! I remember my caboodle and when I saw these were making a comeback I couldn't wait to introduce my girls to the organizational goodness. I can just imagine them getting all of their hair and makeup stuff in all the little compartments.

7. Kendra Scott Necklace - Talk about nice taste, right?! I love that my oldest loves jewelry though and the birthstone line is perfect for girls this age. Plus, it will be a special piece they can wear into their teen years.

8. Flair pens - It's way more fun to take notes and do homework with fun pens!

9. Uggs - A pricey item, but the quality can't be beat and the comfort is top notch. Did you know Dick's Sporting Goods carries Uggs? I didn't until last week and today they have 25% off your order including the Uggs! If you are thinking of purchasing now is definitely the time!

10. Grab and Go Hair Ties - The latest in a ponytail holder!

11. Crocs - I know. I thought the same thing. These can't possibly be coming back, but they are! All the middle schoolers are sporting Crocs with charms. My kids wore these when they were little and I can't believe they are making a comeback. Amazon has at the best price I've been able to find!

12. Vera Bradley - Something that doesn't go out of style is Vera Bradley! From backpacks to lunch boxes and crossbody bags to makeup pouches...they'll love it all!

Holiday Gift Guide: Tween Girls

As hard as it is for me to admit to myself that my sweet big-bow wearing little girls have grown up to be tweens, they have! I think this age is super fun and pretty much the easiest group to shop for, but if you aren't a parent of a girl in the 8-12 age range then you might need a little inspiration for gift giving. Today we're sharing lots of fun things for all the tween girls on your list.

North Face Fleece - It's sad, but true that a lot of girls this age start caring about labels and brands. They want what their friends have and they want to feel like they fit in. For my girls right now it's all about the labels. The Mr. just rolls his eyes and I tell him to buckle up because this roller coaster ride is just getting started. These North Face fleece jackets are great though because they are lightweight enough to not be too bulky, but super warm and something I'm sure they will wear to school pretty much every day.

Athleisure Wear - Just like their mama, they want to be comfortable, they want to be able to move around easily, and they want to look good. Tweens love athleisure and my girls especially love these capri and full length leggings. They will both be getting a few new pairs for Christmas.

Jewelry Box - They have some special jewelry and they each have a jewelry box, but nothing that keeps it all organized that well and I'm the one that ends up having to undo all the tangles or help find missing earrings. These personalized jewelry boxes are such a nice gift and will be perfect for helping them keep all of their special pieces safe and sound.

Mermaid Tail Blanket - While this age group likes to be grown up, they are also still little girls so something like these mermaid tail blankets are fun and appeal to them! So warm and fun to snuggle up while watching a movie or reading a book during cold winter months!

Simply Southern Tees - Again with the labels, but all girls this age love Simply Southern tees. There are both long and short sleeved options available and tons of designs to choose from. My girls lived in these this summer!

Smart Phone Printer - We shared this a few weeks ago for our Kids Tech Gifts post and it bears repeating here. Kids love snapping selfies or pictures with their friends and this cool printer lets them hook up their devices wirelessly and print their favorite shots instantly. I secretly want this gift for myself and I know my girls will be obsessed with it!

Graphic Novels - I mentioned these books a while back, but graphic novel are all the rage right now and the Smile series or the Babysitters Club series are ones I know my girls love!

Make-up - Looking for some fun stocking stuffer ideas? Get them real make up! It doesn't have to be anything wild that is going to make them look like a clown, but tweens love make up. A very neutral blush, some shimmery/sheer eyeshadow, lip gloss and clear mascara will make them feel all grown up!

Small Crossbody Bags - Last but not least, a small cross body bag is something they will love to carry with them. They can bring their gum, lip gloss, iPods, and other goodies everywhere they go! I See Me: Personalized Christmas Books

A lot of people spend Black Friday at the malls and big box retailers shopping till they drop and hitting all the sales, but it's our tradition to spend the entire day saying goodbye to Thanksgiving and hello to Christmas!

It usually takes the entire day to do the inside and out, but I love it and so do the kids! They are usually pretty great little helpers and love assisting with everything from decorating the tree to hanging stockings.

One of their very favorite things is when I pull out all of our Christmas books from the basement. We've accumulated quite the collection and I like to keep them all together in a basket all season long to make it easy for grabbing the ones they want to read each night.

This year I was so excited to add a new personalized I See Me book to our basket. Our little Boo-Boo still loves his other I See Me book so I knew he would be super excited about a Christmas book with his name in it, too.

This is the traditional Night Before Christmas story with some personal details added in to the illustrations and the text.

When he saw his name on one of the gifts in Santa's sleigh he was super excited!

Although this book is personalized for him, I loved that I could also make it personal for our whole family by including the girls' names which are used in the illustrations like on the stockings and the gifts.

There is even an option to include furry family members and I did this for our dog, Walker! I think this might be the thing Boo-Boo get most excited about. They are the best of friends and seeing Walker's name and the dog weaved into the illustrations in this story is something he keeps pointing out over and over when we read this book.

I was able to also submit a picture that is included in the dedication page and this gift set also came with a personalized ornament with that same picture! Boo-Boo was so happy to see him and Walker on the ornament and couldn't wait to hang it on the tree in his room.

The girls were super excited to read this book, too, but after we were done reading it for the first time I could tell Blondie was a little bummed. I asked her what was wrong and she said she wanted a book with her name on it. I reminded her that this book had her name in it, too, but I knew she meant that she wanted a book of her very own. Later that night I made sure to hop on the I See Me website and order her a special personalized book that is just for her and I can't wait to give it to her for Christmas. I know she will love it!

Holiday Gift Guide: What Moms Really Want

We've always been on team one-holiday-at-a-time and the thought of mixing Thanksgiving with Christmas just isn't our thing. However, now that Thanksgiving is over we are officially focusing on our favorite time of year! We know us moms are the ones always buying gifts for everyone else, but don't forget about yourselves this year, ladies! Whether you are looking for gift ideas for yourself or for another awesome mom you know, we thought we'd share a few of of our favorites and things we know that moms really want...like yoga pants and robot vacuum cleaners!

Stella and Dot Earrings - I have these Isadora hoop earrings in gold and wear them at least 4 times a a week, if not more! They are really light weight, they have fun details on them and super affordable. I'm hoping for a silver pair under the tree this Christmas.

Roomba - I know some people think giving an appliance for Christmas isn't a great idea, but I have to disagree when the appliance is a robot. A robot vacuum to be exact. A Roomba was the number one thing on my Christmas list last year and I was thrilled when I received it. I hate to vacuum, but I have a dog that sheds like crazy, so this is a lifesaver. Workout Wear - Busy moms love to be comfortable, but we also want to look stylish when we are on-the-go. Often times workout wear becomes our everyday wear so we love adding new and fun pieces to our every growing collecting of spandex! Holiday Gift Guide: Teacher's Gifts

Well with Halloween now behind us that can mean only one thing...

The holidays are coming!!!

We can't believe there are only 7 weeks between now and Christmas!

And yes, we know there is Thanksgiving there in between, but...

ONLY 7 MORE WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

That means it's time to get our gift planning and shopping officially underway. Last week we both wrapped up first quarter's parent/teacher conferences, and let us just tell you. No one deserves to be on our shopping list first more than teachers.

We love giving personalized gifts any chance we can so we turned to our friends at Preppy & Personalized to see what fun, personalized gifts they had for our hard-working and well-deserving teachers. Of course their selection did not disappoint so we thought we would share some of our favorite ideas for teacher gifts with y'all.

We both own monogrammed vests and get so many compliments on them at school every time we are there to volunteer. Well, hint-hint, if teachers are complementing our vests we know that means they would love a monogrammed vest of their own, too!

This kind of gift is preppy, personalized, AND practical. Because we are sure teachers would prefer something like this that they will really wear a lot instead of another boring coffee mug...just saying.

Another thing we think that would make great teacher gifts are these leather cuff bracelets. They come with an engraved disk and are such a fun addition to any outfit. I (Jen) have a pink one and love it!

There are 10 colors to choose from though and know a few trendy teachers that would really appreciate this fun gift.

We know teachers are always sending notes, so they can never have too many note pads. We loved these cute apple teacher notepads and think our teachers would, too.

And for all of those type-A list makers this to-do list notepad would be perfect. In fact, we are thinking we might need to order some of these for ourselves!

You know something all teachers have to do? Get up really early. You know what most of them need to help them get their day started? Coffee! I know a lot of teachers that would love this personalized stainless steel tumbler for their mornings on the go.

The last item that caught our eye were the personalized acrylic trinket boxes. We thought teachers could either take these home for use outside of school or leave it on their desks to help organize things like paper clips, rubber bands or other office supplies.

We know it is easy to put this kind of thing off and think you will get around to it in a few weeks, but then next thing you know you are going to be stressing out, running out of time, and wishing you had started sooner. Trust us, we speak from experience. We want to enjoy the holiday season with our littles instead of stressing out because we are so busy so that is why we are starting shopping now and you should, too! You'll thank us come mid-December! ;-)

Teachers Meet & Greet Gifts {Printable}

I can't believe today is the first day back to school! Summer flew by! In my opinion it is way too early for school to start. #summerforever

Not to mention, today also marks the day that this guy is now officially a Kindergartener.

Insert MAJOR tears.

I feel like he was just born yesterday. How on earth are we here already??

Last week we had our official "Meet & Greet" with his new teachers at his new school, and we whipped them up a fun little gift.

We found these super cute donut themed drink bottles and went with it as inspiration for our theme. Because who doesn't like donuts? ;)

I was able to quickly make a fun printable to partner with it, and then we grabbed a few Dunkin' Donut gift cards.

We added some fun coordinated wrapping and we were all set! I love when a gift comes together so easily.

Cute was beyond excited to meet his teachers and share a little something with them. I'm hoping it brightens their first day too because I know they are just as sad that summer is ending as we are.

Now if you need me for the rest of the day, I will be crying uncontrollably while hugging the other two Cutes, willing them to stay babies forever.
