Get Better Sleep with Cadia Pillow

Best pillow for sleep

Oh my gosh y'all! If ever there was a post to read - this is the one! So, a few weeks ago I had had it. My neck was killing me. I was waking up in so much pain looking left would make me cringe every single time. I just knew the cause had to be my pillow.

When we moved last year, my husband talked me into a new mattress with extra firm support. Listen, I like to sleep on what feels like a fluffy cloud of goodness. What's not firm? Clouds. The mattress salesperson assured me that it would get less firm over the course a few months and I would be in sleep heaven. Oh and here are some firm pillows to throw in for good measure just to make the angels sing.

That salesperson sits on a mattress throne full of hard, neck pain filled lies.

When Cadia Sleep asked us to do a review for their luxury adjustable pillows, I jumped at the chance to give them a try.

Best. Decision. Ever.

WHY I LOVE MY CADIA PILLOW

Cadia pillows come in three different levels of firmness - soft/plush, medium & firm. I am a side and stomach sleeper and ordered the plush one for me. My husband is a side and back sleeper, and I ordered the medium for him. The best part about each pillow is that it is adjustable!

Being able to customize our pillows to our needs has been sleep changing! Each pillow comes with a series of inserts that can be removed or added to ensure that you get the ultimate comfort and support that YOU need.

The pillows are hypoallergenic (Which is great for those nights when my allergy prone daughter comes into my bed and steals my pillow. Spoiler alert: it's every night.), and built with materials that (to quote the website), "make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud"

They had me at "cloud"

The inserts and pillow cover are also washer friendly! Such a bonus! I wash my pillows every few weeks to make sure all the dust mites and dead-skin cells are removed, and love knowing I'm not ruining its fluffy cloud-like features while I'm doing so.

CADIA GIVES BACK

Another great thing I love about Cadia is that they recycle your old pillows. If your old pillows are  polyester or down alternative filled Cadia will recycle them. And it's totally headache free to do so! They send the packaging and labels with your pillow purchase so all you have to do is pop your old pillow into the mail and done! I wish other companies would think of recycling programs like this! Think of how much good they can do.

FINAL PILLOW TALK

Both my husband and I agree that Cadia pillows are life changing. We both are sleeping better, and my neck now can move any which way pain free. I also feel like I don't get up as often through the night. Now that I am more comfortable I think I am able to sleep more soundly. I didn't even realize how much my old pillow was affecting me and my health on a daily basis. I wish I had done the research and made the change sooner!

Better Options for Bed, Bath & Home

Each year it seems to happen. With Christmas chaos behind us, and the last of the decor put away, I step back and tend to see my house in a fresh light. I get the urge to do a bunch of house projects, clean and organize every nook and cranny, and take note of what needs freshening up.

This year's house project list is a mile long (more on that later), but currently I've been concentrating on smaller little ways to make a space feel "fresh" without going overboard. Little changes here and there that aren't too noticeable to most people, but to me and my family might make a big difference.

Topping the list for the year was new linens. With a family of five, our sheets and towels are on continuous rotation. Not to mention my husband and I hated our current sheet set. I love the feel of them and bought two sets, but while they are soft and luxurious they lacked one major thing from being a great sheet set - they never stayed on the bed. It never fails in the middle one of the corners would pop off of the fitted sheet. We'd both be up wrestling with them all night long.

First world problem? Absolutely.

But still, who wants to be dealing with twisted sheets all night.

MEET BETTER OPTIONS

At the end of last year, Carrie Beth and I were introduced to Better Options Company. It's a local company here in our little slice of Atlanta, Georgia, and one we realized we've long loved - they've just changed their direction to include more southern brands.

Remember when I ordered this fun Stair Barrier for our stairs when our mini-est Magnolia became mobile? Well the Stair Barrier is now The Better Options Company. TBOC is an expanded effort that includes luxury bedding, linens, and the coziest of blankets you will ever snuggle up in.

EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A SOUTHERN DRAWL

I couldn't wait to give them all a try! I was especially intrigued by the Southern Drawl Cotton Sheet Sets. I ordered the Rope Draw sheet set in White/Tan.

The moment I took them out of the packaging, I fell in love with how soft and luxurious they felt. They are made from 100% sustainable cotton and are completely dye free.

I opted for the rope set because we hadn't had much luck lately with the elastic of fitted sheets, and I was curious how it would hold up. After just a few nights I realized the rope draw system was a game changer! I am now a huge fan and plan on ordering more Southern Drawl sheet sets ASAP!

Southern Drawl doesn't stop at just luxury bedding though. They also make amazing bath towels.

There's just something luxurious about crisp white bath towels. They are such a classic when it comes to style and luxury, and they will always coordinate with any bathroom. They also remind me of being in a resort.

And who doesn't want to bring that feeling home with them?!

Carrie Beth and I both enjoy the six piece set, and they have been a joy to both have on display as well as use.

SNUGGLE UP WITH CAROLINA CRAFTED

I'm a blanket person. Throws are one of those year round accessories I can never get enough of.  Even in the hottest Summer months you can find me snuggled up in one. I have a ton around the house for our family to use, or guests to snuggle up in when they visit. I feel like you can never have enough. So, when I spotted this Carolina Crafted Herringbone throw, I couldn't resist.

The Carolina Crafted blankets are all made from 100% recycled cotton/poly blended yarns that have been pre-washed for softness. And oh my goodness, soft they are!

I also love that it is washable! Because unless I hide that blanket from every single living thing in my household, it needs to be something that can easily be thrown in the washer and dryer.

Updating linens might not seem like the most glamorous of home updates, but oh my does it feel good when you're cozying up in all that luxurious cotton goodness. And I love that I was able to knock out these tiny updates to our home while supporting an amazing local brand.

Summer Home Refresh with Old Time Pottery {Giveaway!}

A big thank you to Old Time Pottery for sponsoring this post.  All thoughts, ideas and and opinions are our own.

We have some friends coming in town this weekend to stay with us before we all head on vacation together.  I've been wanting to do a little guest room refresh for a while now, but it's always one of those rooms that never makes it to the top of the list. When Old Time Pottery asked if we wanted to do a summer home refresh I jumped at the chance and knew just what room I wanted to focus on.

One thing on the top of my list for our guest room was to find new lamps.  The lamps I had in there were about 12 years old and used to be in our living room. When we moved to our new house I stuck them in that guest bedroom, but never really loved them in there.  They were really dark, a little more formal, and just not my style anymore.  Last week I checked out what Old Time Pottery had and was SO impressed with their lamp selection.

They had a lot of really stylish options and I actually had a hard time narrowing down the ones I wanted.  I also grabbed some new pillows, some greenery and something new for the wall over the bed.  I couldn't wait to get home and put it all together.

I love how just these few items really changed the entire look of the room and made it feel more put together.  The lamps really brighten up the room and the new wall art is so pretty!  I love a mix of metal and wood.

Switching out pillows is always one of my favorite ways to refresh a room and I love these pretty blue ones.

For just about $100 I was able to give this guest bedroom a refresh and feel like it's ready to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable!

Do you have a room in your house you'd like to do a little refresh on?  You are in luck because our friends at Old Time Pottery said we could give away a $100 gift card to one of you!  To enter, just leave us a comment below telling us what room in your home you'd like to refresh! For additional entries, head to our Facebook page and Instagram later today. Winner will be announced on Friday, June 14th!

Master Bedroom Makeover: Part 2

A few months ago, I decided it was time to update our Master Bedroom. Our bedroom was looking sort of sad and neglected compared to some of the other rooms in our home. I went to one of my favorite stores and shopped my heart out for some new bedding and decor, but even though I was happy with the results it still didn't quite look as "finished" as I had in my head.

After the New Year, Mr. Cute surprised me by saying he was taking a week off from work to stay home and wanted to knock out some home projects. We made a list of ideas and prioritized what we wanted to do. I was surprised when he picked my idea for our Master Bedroom out first. He looked at my idea and said he could create the trim work I envisioned in just a few days. I was so excited!

Our bedroom is such a large space, and I think what bothered me was that the walls were just so plain. I'm a huge sucker for trim work and almost every room in our house now has some (thanks handy husband!), but our sad little bedroom was left out along the way.

We chose to do a taller Board & Batten around the room, and Mr. Cute put his carpentry skills to work.

Within two days he had the trim completed, and within three caulked and painted. I was so impressed! It totally transformed our entire room!

As he was doing all the hard labor, I called up Carrie Beth to help me grab some of the finishing details. She was working on her closet/office makeover so I thought we could tag team our efforts and bounce ideas off one another. Not to mention shopping with your bestie is just so darn fun.

We found the softest, dreamiest bedding for a shockingly inexpensive price.

And after two trips we got the throw pillow situation just right.

And while team Magnolia efforts were focused on trim work, painting, and throw pillow hunting by day, at night I was scouring the Internet for a set of new chairs. Our bedroom already had a little sitting area set up, but I knew to make the room complete we'd have to update that a bit too. In my mind I had leather wing backs, but then I stumbled upon these gorgeous recliners and knew they would be perfect.

They coordinate perfectly with the storage bench at the end of my bed, and I know if we ever rearrange our furniture in the future, I can utilize all three together in a different space if needed.

We found this round side table during our shopping trip and I knew it was the perfect size for the space. Bonus that it matched my bedroom furniture perfectly. It comes in several colors, and almost did something to mix it up, but decided to have it be uniform to the rest of the furniture.

We have a few more minor touches to add to the room, but for now I'm loving our new master bedroom!

ALL IN THE DETAILS

It was so fun pulling this room together. Here are all the details in case you are interested in doing something similar or saw something you liked.

Master Bedroom Makeover

Thank you CTSandThat! for sponsoring this post.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Updating and organizing my house has been priority one since school has gone back into session. The few hours a week I get to myself, I've spent cleaning out closets, getting rid of unused home decor, and updating certain spaces. One of the spaces that needs an overhaul is our Master Bedroom. Luckily, I knew just where to go to get a little help! andThat! literally has everything, and now our bedroom is on it's way to being the glamorous space it should be.

Out With the Old (and drab!)

Our Master Bedroom is large, and a place where we spend a lot of time surprisingly. The kids have a built-in cabinet that contains toys in it to play with. Often they come into our room to play because of the vast amount of floor space. We have a built-in bookshelf, an entertainment center, and a seating area - it's a space that gets used a lot.

I have always tried to purchase great bedding, but I recognized otherwise it's pretty plain. So, I thought if we are spending so much time in here we can at least spruce it up a little bit. Make it less lackluster, and more like a cozy put together dreamy space.

The Wishlist

Okay, so I knew I wanted to stay in a similar color palette that I already had going - creams, whites, and pale blues. With such dark, heavy furniture I want to keep everything else light.

I have a few things on my bedroom wishlist:

  • A rug
  • An end of bed bench
  • Table lamps
  • Artwork for either side of the dresser
  • New chairs for the seating area
  • Frames & Accessories
  • Optional: Bedding (because I just can't resist)
Am I forgetting anything???

andThat! Makes Things Oh So Dreamy!

It's no secret that we love andThat!. It has a ton of departments filled to the brim with great items. I just knew I would be able to knock out a pretty large part of my wish list here (if not all of it!).

I tried to not get distracted by all of their adorable Fall decor (trust me, it was tough) and made my way straight back to their bedding section. They have a huge bedding section filled with everything you would need to outfit your bed - pillows, comforters, mattress covers, sheets, quilts and more!

I instantly fell in love with their Grainhouse line. It's an exclusive farmhouse-inspired line, and it is darling. The Grainhouse bedding is gorgeous and inexpensively priced. I'm not sure there are many places where you can find quality bedding for less than $30.

I had a hard time choosing which one I loved the most, but I couldn't resist grabbing this striped quilt set.

Just before I went on my shopping trip I had ordered new lamps for my bedroom. After seeing the huge selection andThat! has in stock, and all their dreamy options, I kind of wish I had waited. They had so many ones that coordinated with what I had in mind, and at a much better price than the ones I ordered.

I just loved this tall option. I might have to go back and get it. I loved the turned wood, and it comes in a variety of colors!

I had put a bench on my wish list, and I had no idea andThat! had such a great selection of those too! In my head, I wanted something quilted and plush, and when I turned the corner from the lighting department there she was!

As a bonus, this bench opens into storage too! Which is perfect for my throw pillow obsession. I grabbed the cream colored one and could have stopped there because my whole day was made.

But I was on a high, and ready to tackle accessories!

I mean, I might have blacked out for a moment when I saw all the cute finds I could get my hands on and bring home. The lanterns, candles, and frames are all just what I was looking for!

I love that andThat! carries most items in multiple sizes so you can layer your space, or grab the right size you might need but maintain the same look.

I stocked up my cart with various size frames, various candles and candle holders, a few fun signs, and a little surprise or two that wasn't on my list. It was the perfect place to get all my bedroom decor needs!

In With The New!

After I came home from my shopping trip I couldn't wait to put everything together in my bedroom! I still have a few things on my list I want to grab for the space, but for now, it looks a million times better!

The bench might be my favorite find of all. I love how it breaks up my dark furniture and it's come in handy to put on shoes, store extra pillows and sheets, and just to keep it real - the kids love jumping off of it onto our bed. It's a winner for the whole family!

I love that I was able to work off of what I already had and just add little special touches here and there! Starting from scratch would have gotten really expensive, and overwhelming.

Considering andThat! is so budget friendly, I have a lot of wiggle room left over to find a rug and new seating without breaking the bank. I love how it turned out and can't wait to put all the final touches on it! Now to actually try to get some sleep in it...

Stay tuned for all the final details soon! In the meantime, you can check out #andThatshoppingchallenge on social media to get more inspiration for your home, and see what other andThat! fun finds are out there!
