Easy Valentine Gifts for Teachers

It's no secret we love to spoil our teachers.  From gift baskets at the beginning of the year to little gifts along the way, we like to let them know just how much we appreciate them and all they do for our kids.  Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show your teachers just how much you love them and I wanted to come up with a cute, but easy gift for our teachers this year.

I came up with a sweet snack mix and decided to package it in mason jars. I actually spray painted the lids red to make them look a little more festive!

I mixed marshmallows, Valentine's Day M&M's, pretzels, and teddy grahams.  My kids and I love a good sweet/salty mix, so hopefully the teachers will enjoy it, too!

After it was all mixed I put it in the jars and tied it with ribbon.  So easy, so yummy and done!

For our regular classroom teachers I also added a Target gift card to their treat and was so excited when I found these LOVE ones.  So appropriate because we really do LOVE our teachers!

Kitchen Confessions: Cupid Crunch

Now that it's February, let's just go ahead and put this out there - I love Valentine's Day! I might be in the minority, but I think it is just such a fun day - especially seeing how excited my children get about the day. There are just so many reasons to love Valentine's Day...

1: It's just fun to celebrate love. We need more days like that in our lives.
More love, less...everything else!

2: Conversation hearts.

3: The chance to wear pink head to toe (as if I need an excuse).

4: All the adorable theme wear for the kids.

5: Roses. Give me all the roses.
(And yes, you can buy these any day of the year, but you probably don't. So receive them, buy them, send them to a friend...get on board with a day about flowers!)

6: Any excuse to dig into one of those yummy boxes of chocolates.
(Dibs on the coconut crunch!)

Speaking of all the yummy Valentine's Day treats, feast your eyes on this yummy concoction...

Let me introduce you to the Cupid Crunch Snack Mix.

We put our own twist on this yummy salty sweet combo, and it is so so tasty.
I might have eaten it for lunch one day this week.

It's super easy to make, with less than 20 minutes of work from start to finish. It's also a huge hit with the kids if you have a treat you need to bring into class for a party.

Bonus: You can make it allergy free with just a few switch of products. I used these pretzels, these chocolate chips are a great alternative that are still super yummy, and Chex cereal is free of most allergens.

We are dishing on the yummy details of this Cupid Crunch Snack Mix with our friends over at Savvy Sassy Moms. Make the hop HERE to check it out!

Make it, gift it, pack it up and bring it to work as a snack.
You will forever be in love with Valentine's Day and so will your tastebuds.

Cupid Floats

Happy Wednesday, friends!  We only have a few days left of this week and then our kids are out of school for winter break.  Woo Hoo!  That means that this year Valentine's Day falls over the break so we will be out of town for the holiday.  That didn't stop us from decorating a little bit for Valentine's Day though and we've also been celebrating early by creating some fun treats for the kids.

Head over to Savvy Sassy Moms to read all about these Cupid Floats!  They are a simple twist on a classic root beer float and our kids LOVED them.  They're perfect for at home, but we've also served these in plastic cups for a Valentine's Day class party.  No matter how you serve them, everyone will be sipping sweetly!

Valentine's Day Treat: Oreo Pops

With Valentine's Day around the corner, just before baby decided to make her arrival, I went into Valentine's Day prep mode. I wanted to make a few fun treats to send into Cute's school and test for his upcoming Valentine's party. Knowing that I would be a sleep deprived wreck by the time all events rolled around I kept the treats as simple as possible. The hardest part was not taste testing (too much) along the way. ;) These Oreo pops were not only delicious, they only took a few minutes to make and The Cutes were able to help.

Ingredients:
- White, pink or red meltable chocolate (I used white Wilton Candy Melts)
- Oreos (Note: I realized Double Stuffed Oreos might have worked a little better for the lollipop part, but the regular worked just as well)
- Lollipop sticks (I used these.)
- Sprinkles, crushed candy, or conversation hearts
- Wax or parchment paper.

Instructions
1: Place lollipop stick in the frosted part of the Oreo cookie. Set aside.

2: Melt chocolate in microwave safe bowl on 50% power in 30 second intervals. Stir and repeat until fully melted and creamy.

3: Dip Oreo into melted chocolate until fully covered.
4: Sprinkle or decorate with candy of choice.
5: Place on wax/parchment paper to cool for approximately 15 mins or until chocolate has hardened.
6: Eat and enjoy!
