Ulta Must Haves

A few weeks ago I (Carrie Beth) felt like my makeup routine needed a bit of an overhaul. I had a lot of products that I'd been using for a very long time and just didn't really love anymore. I talked to Jen about a few products she loved, and as I was about to head into Ulta I asked on Instagram stories what some of your favorite products were.  You know, the tried and true ones that you just love. Well, we got a lot of great suggestions!

Some were new items we hadn't tried before and some were products we were already using and loving.  We thought we'd share some some of our Ulta must haves that we're loving right now!

Living Proof Dry Volume Blast - Jen introduced this stuff to me. It's like a texturizing spray that you put on dry hair to add volume. I also use it in place of my hairspray now when I curl my hair and it helps the curl to last so much longer!  I am obsessed with it!

Batiste Dry Shampoo - I have used a bunch of different kinds of dry shampoo (including Living Proof) and I always come back to this one.  It's very reasonably priced, I love the way it makes my hair smell, and it gets the job done! I have my girls hooked on it now, too!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - This is one product that I am literally obsessed with. I have always had dark circles under my eyes and could never find a concealer that I really loved until I started using this. It's not cakey, but definitely thicker and has great coverage. This is probably the one makeup item I love the most!

CoverGirl/Olay Simply Ageless Foundation - This one cracks me up because the commercials for it are always ladies much older than myself. I will turn 40 this year though so maybe that is what made me pick it up on a whim. I actually really like it though. In the summer I like to wear a tinted moisturizer, but I was in need of something new for winter. This has medium coverage and I like that it is swirled with some sort of moisturizer or something to keep my skin from getting dried out in the winter. If it makes me look ageless like the name claims, well that is just an added bonus in my book.

Milani Highlighter Palette - I love that glowing look, so naturally I love highlighter.  This palette is nice because it has several different shades and I use them all.

NYX Butter Gloss - This gloss is only around $5 and probably my favorite lip gloss! It comes in a  ton of colors, is super pretty on, but not sticky at all.

Lash Blow Out - This is a new product to me and I have really been impressed. I have used a ton of different mascaras in all different price points and always went back to the the Loreal mascara. I used it for YEARS until I decided to give this new Dry Bar/It Cosmetics mascara a try.  It is SO good and worth the extra money in my opinion! I love the way it looks on my lashes, it doesn't clump at all, but makes them look longer and fuller. Also, this may sound weird, but the wand just feels good in my hands. It's easy to apply because of the wand.  Weird?  Maybe, but I love it!

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Blush - This is a new product that was recommended by some of you and I really like it. It gives my cheeks a nice color without being overbearing like some blushes can be.

Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner - My hair is naturally kind of wavy so anytime there is any humidity it starts to get frizzy.  Since using this I haven't had that problem as much so I really do think this is working.  We'll see how it is when summer's humidity rolls around, but for now I'm happy!

Living Proof Dry Volume Blast - Once someone told me I had good pageant hair. I immediately texted Carrie Beth to make sure that was a good thing. It was.  Big hair with lots of volume is always my goal and this stuff works SO well.  I even got Carrie Beth turned on to it!

Bare Minerals Mineral Veil - I have been using this finishing powder for what feels like forever. I love it because it is super light and just gives a really pretty finish.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo - Any busy mom knows a good dry shampoo is a must and this stuff is my favorite!  It doesn't weigh your hair down at all and a lot of you also shared that this was your favorite dry shampoo also!

Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner - Remember that thing about big hair?  Yep, this goes towards that goal, too. This shampoo and conditioner really adds a ton of volume and combined with the Dry Volume Blast...well, it's a match made in hair heaven!

Urban Decay Smoky Eyeshadow Palette - I don't wear a ton of eye make up on a day to day basis, but when I do I reach for this palette. It has lighter colors I use for everyday, and then for evening or events I utilize the darker colors for that smokier look. It's a Ulta cult favorite that I remember being introduced to by a fellow customer. Now I buy them in bulk and have one stashed in my make-up kit, my car, and a back-up. I hope they never discontinue it!

Tarte Creaseless Concealer - Any mom with kids needs to have a good concealer in their make-up bag.  Those late nights and early mornings and middle of the night wake-ups don't always do favors for our under eyes.  Tarte knows what's up when it comes to concealers! This one is very similar to the Shape Tape, but a gives off a more dewy finish than matte.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - With a name like that you know it has to be good, right? This mascara is hands down my favorite. It doesn't smudge, adds a lot of length and makes my lashes look really thick!

Bare Minerals Original - Just like the above Bare Minerals I mentioned, I have been using this one for ages and it just gives a nice, even foundation to build on without being heavy or feeling thick on my face. I'm still not at the point I feel like I need heavy coverage, and since I have drier skin I tend to lean towards lighter weight foundations. Years ago I was introduced to Bare Minerals and have never looked back once.

Loreal Voluminous Mascara - If you are looking for something at a little lower price point this mascara is the one that I always have in my bag. This is also the one Carrie Beth used forever before finding the DryBar one. You cannot beat it for the price!

READER SUGGESTIONS

Like we mentioned above, there were a ton of great suggestions from you ladies when we asked on Instagram Stories so we wanted to share those recommendations, too.

Nars Blush - Such pretty colors.

It Bye Bye Foundation - This one has SPF 50+.

NYX Slide On Lip Pencil - GREAT value and long lasting.

Anastasia Sugar Glow Kit - Another great highlighter set.

Foundation Blender Brush  - I actually bought this after it was suggested and love it!

Smashbox Primer - TONS of great reviews for this.

Colour Pop Eyeshadow - So many pretty colors.

Lash Paradise Mascara - Another great one at a great price!

If anyone has any other favorite products or things we should try, please let us know. We always love trying new stuff!

Friday Favorites: Favorite Summer Beauty Products

Happy Friday!!!!  Linking up with Friday Favorites today to share my Favorite Summer Beauty Products!  I'm a beauty product kind of girl. I love trying different things and have always loved make-up, lotions, anything that smells good and will make me look and feel my best.

The other day I started thinking about the fact that there are some products that I use pretty much exclusively in the summer for one reason or another.  Different temperatures call for different kinds of products so thought I would share my favorites with y'all!

1. Ever Daylight Tinted Moisturizer - I started using this tinted moisturizer last summer and just ordered another tube of it.  I really don't like wearing heavy make-up in the summer and this is really sheer and light weight. I use it as a foundation and I love that it has sunscreen in it.  Plus, it smells SO good!!!  I wear the shade light, but it comes in tons of different shades to match any skin tone.

2. Beauty County Stick  Sunscreen - I have shared about this sunscreen before, but I LOVE it. I keep one stashed in my car, in my pool bag, in our baseball bag, and in my daughter's soccer bag. I love it because it goes on clear the stick application means that it's super quick to swipe on our faces.

3. L'Oreal Waterproof Mascara - If I had to choose only one item of makeup to wear for the rest of my life I would pick mascara.  With blonde eyelashes mine are super hard to see unless I have mascara on so I always wear mascara!  Summer means swimming and sweating so I like to use the waterproof version of my favorite mascara so I don't have to worry about it running down my face.

4. Neutrogena Single Make-Up Wipes - I use make-up remover wipes everyday and when I saw these singles I was SO excited. We go to the lake a lot in the summer and have a few other trips planned. I hate having to take a big pack of the makeup wipes so now I can just throw in a few of the singles in my bag. I also keep a few of theses in my car. After sitting outside in the heat all day watching my son play baseball, it's nice to be able to just wipe down my face to feel a little fresher.

5. Neutrogena Spray Self Tanner  Like most everyone, I feel better about the way I look when I look tan.  I have tried a ton of different self-tanners and I always come back to this one.  I like the deep , but it also comes in a medium shade. The spray makes it easy to apply and I feel like you don't really see where you start and stop so it blends really well.  I just stand on a towel in my bathroom so it doesn't get all over the floor or do it in my shower!

What are your favorite summer beauty products?
I love trying new things so share your favorites in the comments below!

Our Favorite Drug Store Beauty Buys

We love a good beauty product...from hair products to make up and everything in between.  We've been known to spend a lot money on beauty products, but a the same time some of our very favorites are items that just cost a few dollars.  We don't discriminate when it comes to the type of beauty products we use, so today we are focusing on some of our favorite drug story beauty products.  These are items you can get just about anywhere...Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Amazon.

Sheer Blonde Hair Spray - I picked up this hairspray on a total whim at the grocery store and fell in love it it. It's really light weight and holds my curls, but doesn't feel sticky or heavy at all.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - I've tried lots of brands and for the price, this is my very favorite!  It comes in a ton of different scents, but I love the bare one best. It just smells so fresh and clean!

L'Oreal Mascara - Best mascara in my opinion.  It has build-able coverage so if you just want a little on one swipe will do, but if you want more of a dramatic eye, just put on more coats.

L'Oreal eyeliner - This eyeliner goes on so easy and smooth!

Vaseline Lip Therapy - After having some serious lip allergy reactions going on with various chapsticks and lip products, this was recommended to us by a dermatologist and to this day we won't use regular chapstick.  This comes in a few varieties and we have them all!

Burts Bees Lip Shimmer - See above!  Because of the months of pain and discomfort I went through I was scared to use anything on my lips.  This is a nice mix of moisturizing and color and never dries my lips out. It is like a sheer lipstick.  It comes in a ton of colors and I have a bunch of them, but my favorite is Watermelon.

Coconut Oil - Good old fashioned coconut oil!  I buy it on the oil aisle at the grocery store.  I keep thinking I will do a post on this, but haven't gotten around to it yet. There are SO many uses for it, but I keep a jar in my bathroom and use it to take off my eye make up every single night. It is the BEST makeup remover.  It also works to get off things like eye-black (what baseball players wear under their eyes) when nothing else will work!  Sounds weird, but trust us!

Neutrogena make up wipes - When we are lazy and tired at night and don't want to wash our faces, these come in handy!

Essie Nail Polish - Our favorite nail polish because it comes in so many fun colors!  There is nothing better on a random Monday grocery shopping trip than throwing a new fun color in our buggy.

Cutex Swipe & Go Nail Polish Remover Wipes - These are the best!  It's like a gauze/felt pad soaked in nail polish remover.  One pad will take off nail polish on both hands!  They are so great for around the house, but even better for traveling when you can't bring bottles of liquid more than 3 oz. on a plane with you.

Aquaphor Advanced Healing Lotion - Good ol' Aquaphor. We use this stuff for everything!  Dry, irritated skin is the worst this time of year so we love to lather up with this.  We use it on our kids and on ourselves.

Jergen's Natural Glow Firming Lotion - We've been using this stuff for years!!!  It a moisturizing lotion that very slowly and very gradually builds color.  It is great to start using in the winter because when spring arrives, you have a nice healthy glow.

Neutrogena Tanning Spray - Reviews are mixed on this, but we love it.  It's like getting an air brush tan in the comfort and modesty of your own bathroom. The spray makes it go on evenly and the color is gradual if you follow directions and avoid ankles, elbows, and knees.  Tip - We put down an old towel before spraying ourselves and make sure it dries completely before putting on clothes.

Do you have any favorites?  Please share because we love trying out new stuff!

How to Transition Your Beauty Routine for Fall & Winter

How to transition your beauty routine for fall and winter

Fall is in full swing and Winter is just around the corner. Just like our wardrobes have changed, our beauty routines have changed too! It seems the minute the temps drop, and the heat gets turned out, our skin starts to crave a crazy amount of moisture. We tend to ramp up our skincare routines this time of year to counteract the harsh elements of cold and drying heat.

Otherwise we begin to look like a patchy alligator, and as we all know, that's a big no no on multiple levels.

This is Bulldog country.

We'll own at least our big smooth, moisturized wrinkles.

Today we thought it would be fun to dish like good girlfriends do, and share our beauty tips and tricks on how we transition our beauty routines in the Fall and Winter. We'll share ours and along the way we hope you share yours too! We are lacking in a few areas, and would love a few product suggestions if you have ones!

Amazing list of beauty and skincare products for fall and winter

How to Transition Your Beauty Routine for Fall & Winter

Skincare

Cooler weather means drier skin so we are constantly trying to moisturize like crazy.  From our faces, bodies and even our lips!

We've shared this lip conditioner before, but it is the perfect alternative to a sticky chapstick and we love the sheer feel to it. Plus, the tiniest hint of peppermint scent is amazing and perfect for winter!

Another thing that we aren't always as good about in the cooler months is still remembering to apply sunscreen to ourselves and our kids!  Especially our sports loving kids that spend hours in the sun. Our favorite, hands down, is this Beautycounter stick sunscreen.  The kids love it because it goes on sheer and doesn't leave their faces all white. Plus, the stick makes it easy for a quick application on them and us!

For everyday use though, we tend to lean towards the Protect All Over Sunscreen. Just a thin little layer before applying our make up and we've done what we can to protect our skin against the harsh rays of the sun. And let's be honest...we're doing everything we can these days to try to combat those pesky signs of aging.

Which brings us to our heavy hitting skincare line up...

This little combo is our current defense against aging. It's inevitable. We know it's going to happen, but until it does we are doing what we can to keep our skin rocking that youthful glow. Especially when stress, lack of sleep, and our love of cocktails are things that aren't going to go away anytime soon. #momlife

Without boring you with a ton of details, let's just say you need these in your life. We've gone through a ton of products, but these seem to be the best combo, especially at keeping moisture and a healthy glow through the Winter months.

  • SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum - Has tons of great reviews and can back them up. It does an excellent job of brightening and firming, and after a short period of use noticed right away finer lines looked minimized or non-existent. Pricy but worth it.
  • Derma E Radiant Glow Face Oil - Gives an amazing instant youthful glow. We were given the chance to try it last year, and fell in love. Use it during the day after serum and before moisturizing. (Bonus: super inexpensive and smells amazing!)
  • Rejuvenating Radiance Serum - Love, love, love! Give it a few weeks, but your skin is firmer and feels better after extended use.
  • Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion - We were given a tube of this to try a few months ago and instantly fell in love. It adapts to your skins needs and it makes your skin feel like it just took in a huge drink of water. Use this as your last line of anti-aging defense before make-up and to seal in oils.

The last winter skincare must have on our list is hand lotion! All that constant hand washing and drying with cold air makes our hands so chapped. This hand lotion by Derma E is the absolute best! You can use it on any part of your body for a good hit of moisture. But it isn't thick or sticky, smells great, and feels like instant relief.

Another great lotion that smells amazing is the body butter from EVER. We chatted a little bit about it here, but Lavish is still one of our favorite all time moisturizing products.

Make-up

We are all about some sparkle and shine when it comes to make up this time of year...especially when we have holiday parties, events and get togethers to attend.

This Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Classic has tons of great shades for fall and we love how it goes on so effortlessly. We've been using a mix of Ivory, Copper and Sahara as everyday colors, and then for nighttime or when we want to ramp it up a little bit more we use the Cinnamon and the Penny. The Penny is ah-mazing!! It looks so good on! We have completely different skin tones and this palette looks fabulous on both of us.

Because of dryer air and trying our best to keep our skin well moisturized, we tend to use creams vs. powders for a lot of our make-up products.

This cream blush in Pale Pink has been a long time favorite, and as long as Bobby Brown still makes it we will still be buying it. It will be a sad sad day if they ever discontinue it.

This cream highlighter is on our short list to buy. We love that it is a stick and have heard phenomenal things about it. If any of you have tried it we would love to hear your opinions about it!!

Bold red lip color done right!

For lips we tend to go both bold and neutral in the cooler months. Our skin isn't rocking that summer tan anymore and we feel like a little pop of color goes a long way in brightening our faces.

Our favorite neutral colors are...

Our favorite bold colors are...

Hair

Summer in the south means tons of humidity, but as the temperatures drop in fall and winter so does the humidity...thank goodness!  Our hair LOVES the drier air and it makes styling it SO much easier. One product we both use and love is this Moroccan Oil Root Boost. It is AMAZING for helping give you a little extra umpf and volume.

In the warmer months out of the year we tend to let our hair dry, or because we are at the pool/beach/lake a ton we rarely do much with it. In the Winter months we can't stand wet damp hair when it's freezing cold. So we are using more heat products. More heat products means more damage. In comes one of our magic hair secrets is...

Coconut Oil! This coconut oil has a crazy ton of uses in our homes (best eye makeup remover ever!), but it works as a great hair mask as well. Just a little dab on your damp ends over night and voilá - shinier, moisturized hair.

Nails

As we move into the cooler months we like to change things up with our nails and go a little darker. Deep reds, dark blues, grays, purples, golds and even black!

Some of our favorites are this iridescent shade called For the Twill of It. It's either gray, purple or sort of green depending on how the light hits it.

Also, this deep burgundy called Wicked is super shiny and so pretty!

And these are in constant rotation throughout the Fall and Winter too!

From left to right...

That wraps up our beauty favorites for Fall and Winter. Hopefully you found some of them helpful. And feel free to email us and ask any questions you might have about any of them!

Now share with us - what are some of your favorite Fall and Winter beauty tips and tricks? What is the number one product you use in Winter? Share with us!

Customized Hair Products? Yes, Please! {Formulate}

We're so excited about launch day of Formulate, a new hair care brand that is about to change the way  we think about our hair.

Their concept makes so much sense and it is crazy to us that it hasn't been thought of before.  The idea is that no one has the same type of hair and their shampoo and conditioner shouldn't be a one size fits all type of thing.  Take as a perfect example.

Jen has super thick, long flowing hair (and has even been complimented on having "pageant hair").  On the other hand, Carrie Beth has hair that is fine, shorter and is always trying to give it a little umph and volume while trying to keep the frizz away.

So when the nice folks at Formulate asked if we wanted to be a Beta tester for this new shampoo and conditioner we jumped the chance!

Just take a look at this quick and fun video that shows exactly how and why Formulate is doing what they are doing...formulating each customized shampoo and conditioner so that they can be the best product for each person.

Because they are limiting production during the launch you will need a unique code to be able to order. We have them so simply sends an email and we will send you one!

And here is the really great news!  We are hosting a giveaway!!!!  One lucky follower will receive a single shipment of their own customized shampoo and conditioner.  Enter HERE and hurry because the giveaway ends in two weeks!  Be sure to click the "enter my giveaway" link on the Formulate page.

Mommy Maintenance : EVER Skincare and Make-up

It's been a while since we've written a Mommy Maintenance post, but it's one of those topics that is our favorite to discuss.  All of us mamas need a little "me" time once and a while and doing things for ourselves that help us look and feel better is well deserved for all hard working moms.

Today we're dishing all about EVER, a skincare and make-up line that is made with good-for-you ingredients, but also has the science to back up it's products.  So not only do they work, but they are made without any of the bad stuff.  We both gave a few of their products and try and couldn't wait to share what we thought!

What Carrie Beth Tried...

Some of you might have used EVER's skincare products or at least heard of them before, but did y'all know they now have a make-up line also?  We were so excited to learn this because we are lovers of make-up and beauty products, but want to use products that are not harmful or full of chemicals.

I tried the Color Quickie set that basically includes an eye and check palette, mascara, and lip gloss.

Our friend, Amy, suggested that the Elegant and Empowered Out The Door palette and then I went with the Rose Nude gloss. I must say, these are colors I never would have chosen for myself because I always tend to go more for the pink blush and lips, but I REALLY love it.

The Out The Door palette does just what the name suggests.  It is made up of eye and check colors that are designed to highlight your natural beauty and get you out the door fast!  It comes with a guide that suggests how to wear the various colors together and how to apply, which I really appreciated and learned something from. I really love how natural it all looks, but I still feel put together and made up.

The Flash power plumping gloss does just that...adds a bit of color and shine to you lips and you an literally feel the plumping action when you apply.  The Whiplash volumizing mascara has been great because it really makes your lashes look longer and thicker, without being clumpy or smearing on my eyelids or under my eyes after a long day.

Last, but not least, I tried a sample of this Daylight Tinted Moisturizer and just placed my order for a full size bottle.  I love that it has SPF and I plan on wearing it as a light foundation all spring and summer.  The best part about it is that it smells AMAZING!!!

What Jen Tried...
The last few years I've really tried to pay more attention to my skincare routine, and what I need most to keep my skin in the best shape possible.  I tend to lean towards cleaner all natural products, so when Amy asked if we wanted to try a few things from EVER's line I was so excited to learn more about their popular clean beauty line.

After pouring over EVER's website and information I decided to test out some of their most popular skin care items. Both the Reveal Biomimetic Peel Pads and the Lavish Body Butter have rave reviews!

The purpose of the Reveal pads is to help firm, smooth and re-texturize skin without irritating it. For me this is key! As I (ahem) age, I've noticed my skin is beginning to loose it's elasticity. Anything that is willing to help counterbalance all that damage I did to myself in my 20's (here's looking at you baby oil and tanning beds), I'm in. I've tried a few other products that promise similar results, but let's just say my skin was a little sensitive and those didn't go over too well.

The pads were named part of Allure's Best of Beauty awards in 2015 and 2016. Between that backing and that they have great reviews for all skin types, I was willing to give it a try.

I'm so glad that I did! Amy warned me that if I have more sensitive skin to use these lightly and no more than 3 times a week to start. I typically have clear skin with a sightly dryer complexion. I've been using them for about two weeks now, and am loving the results so far.

I do a quick swipe with one of the pads after I wash my face and then follow up with my night serum and a moisturizer. Even after the first use I've noticed my skin feels firmer and smoother. I tested using the pads on back to back nights, but it definitely made my skin feel a little dryer, so I have continued to use them every other day like Amy suggested and I think that is the perfect balance.

I'm definitely curious now after giving the Reveal Pads a try - and seeing the great results - what it would be like to do EVER's full Pure Results Regimen. The pads are the second step, but they have a whole coordinating line!

My biggest skincare complaint is dry skin. In the winter, I'm constantly combatting dry itchy skin between battling the elements and the constant hand washing routine that comes with those germy heightened months. In the summer months, between the chlorine and 1,000,000 SPF I now wear that takes a week to scrape off, my skin also tends to need extra moisture. When I read about EVER's Lavish Body Butter I couldn't wait to try it.

How has this not been in my life earlier?! Holy moly, I was missing out! Not only does it feel ah-mazing, it smells amazing too!

The tiniest little bit goes a long way, and my skin has never felt more moisturized. I totally agree with Allure magazine and all the reviewers who rated Lavish a top product. I want to roll in it and soak in it's luxuriousness every single day.

Lavish is definitely one of my favorite new skin care products, and unless someone else can come up with a better magical moisturizing cream one I think this is one I will now use for life!

Friday Favorites: Beauty Products

Happy Friday!!!  It's my favorite day of the week. I love knowing we have the whole weekend ahead of us. This weekend we don't have too much on the calendar so that means you'll be able to find us at home cheering on USA in our favorite winter sports.  We're so excited about the Olympics starting!  Here's a random bit of info for y'all.  I actually danced in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics when I was 16 years old!  It was such a cool experience and since then I have always loved the Olympics.https://www.instagram.com/themagnoliamamas/

Today I'm not talking about the Olympics though...instead I'm linking up with some of our favorite bloggers to share some of my favorite beauty products for Friday Favorites.

Here's the deal, while I love products, I really don't use that many. I like to keep things pretty minimal  mostly because I want my getting ready for bed or getting ready for the day routine as quick as possible.  I can't stand buying a product thinking it is going to be great and then realizing it isn't really as awesome as I had hoped.  I use a lot of reviews and recommendations from other people to try to make sure I'm not just wasting money to get products that I'm not going to love so that is how the idea of this post came about. Maybe by me sharing some of the products I love, some of these will become your favorites, too!

Back in August I shared this shirt on Instagram and SO many people wanted to know where they could get it. Well here is a confession.  I don't drink Diet Coke and at that point I had never used dry shampoo!

That actually isn't true. I had used one brand of dry shampoo that I got a sample of, but it made my hair sticky, weighted down, and just gross.  After that first attempt I had written it off and said no more to dry shampoo.  Well, then my friend told me about how she just started using Batiste Dry Shampoo and how it changed her life.  Not in some crazy big way, but it did change her daily routine and allowed her to go longer between washings so I was willing to give it a try.  I'm telling y'all, this stuff is amazing! If you haven't tried dry shampoo, start with this brand because it is the best.

I used to wash my hair everyday that I wanted to fix it because it just did better after a fresh wash and blow-dry.  Now though, I can use this and still style it and it looks good, if not better.  Or I can use it when I know I'm going to be throwing it up into a ponytail and working out, but don't want it to look greasy. I'm telling y'all, this has changed my routine!

There are so many different scents and varieties and I wasn't sure which to start with, but I just went with the Clean & Light Bare and love it. It smells SO good and fresh and I feel like it smells like my hair does after leavening the salon.  I'm obsessed with the scent. It does seem a bit white when I spray it onto my roots, but for me that works because I have blonde hair.  My friend who told me about it has dark hair and she uses the one for darker hair. There is a brunette one and a Dark and Deep Brown option also if you have darker hair.

While we are on the topic of hair, another product that was recommended to me and I now use regularly is this Moroccanoil Root Boost

I have really fine hair and it can look pretty limp and lifeless if I just dry it straight. I usually have to add some curl or something just to give it some life. When I tried this for the first time the former pageant girl in me rejoiced!  Jen and I always joke we love big hair and this stuff does the trick. I just spray it on my roots before blow drying and it adds texture and lift that I need!

I have tried a lot of different mascaras and eyeliners over the years.  From expensive ones to things I pick up at the grocery store and I always come back to this combo.  I prefer them over any expensive brand and I think they work so much better.  The eyeliner goes on really smooth and the mascara makes my lashes look long and full.

I like Blackest Black for the mascara and both Espresso and Carbon Black for the eyeliner

I've been using this e.l.f. highlighter in Blush Gems for a while now. I have other brands and different types (stick form, loose powder), but always come back to this!

Plus, it is only $4 so you can't beat that!

When I'm not wearing LipSense, my go-to for some lip color is Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer. I have to be really careful about what kind of products I use on my lips because I had a horrible allergic reaction a few years ago, but this stuff is the best.

It's moisturizing and adds color and simmer, but it is more sheer at the same time and feels very light on. My favorite colors are Peony and Watermelon.

Last, but not least for day is my secret for taking makeup off...especially eye make up.  I use coconut oil!  Just plain, get from the grocery story, coconut oil.  I once read that this could be used for taking off makeup and I tell you it is the BEST!!!  I keep a jar in my bathroom that I use only for beauty use.

I use these make-up wipes first and then use the coconut oil to take off my eye makeup. I just put a bit on a tissue and rub it onto my eyes and it gets off all the mascara and eyeliner. I also sometimes use it on a q-tip the next morning if I have remnants of eye make-up from the day before. It might sound weird, but I promise this is one of my favorite beauty tricks!

So my last favorite is something I'm hoping y'all can help me with. I'm on the search for a great concealer. The brand I used to use is no longer available and I've tried at least 4 since then trying to find the right one and just haven't come across one I love. I have darker circles under my eyes and need something light to help brighten them up.  Do you have one you love?  If so, please email me or share in the comments!
