Happy Friday! While Jen has been off on a Spring Break adventure this week, my family did some fun stuff closer to home. The Mr. and I were able to sneak away for a few days for one of our favorite experiences...The Masters! Today's Friday Favorites are all about our time there.
First up is where we got to stay...our accommodations were incredible and The Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, Lake Oconee might be my favorite hotel ever. From the moment you arrive you don't feel like you are at a fancy hotel, but rather one that offers a cozy and welcoming environment. Don't get me wrong, it is super nice, but it just has an elegant and upscale southern feel that doesn't seem fussy.
I love the grounds, I love the decor, and the amazing views (which I somehow got no pictures of). Jen visited this hotel around Christmas time with her kids and also had an amazing experience! I really want to take my kids back this summer.
On our first day the guys played golf and the girls visited the spa, but then we had the afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather. We sat lakeside, sipped Prosecco and just enjoyed each other's company. I was so thankful for the amazingly warm weather because it meant I could wear some of my new spring favorites!
Some of our loyal readers might remember this post when I was gushing over my Target knock-off Birkenstocks or "Fakeinstocks" like my girls call them. I have really bad plantar fasciitis and have a hard time wearing flat shoes and sandals with no support so when I found these from Target I started wearing them non-stop and it made all of my foot pain go away!
Well, I decided to use a gift card I had to buy the real deal since they are making such a come back. I had had my eye on these black patent leather ones for months and finally bit the bullet when I saw all sizes were restocked. I'm seriously in love with them and want them in pretty much every color now. I loved the black patent though because I felt like they could be dressed up or down. These are definitely my new favorite shoes for spring and summer.
I admired in our last Book Club post that I had little to no time to read last month. Well, I made sure to sneak in a little time on this trip and this book is a real page turner. Behind Closed Doors sort of reminds me of The Last Mrs. Parish and I can't wait to see how it all ends. These kind of books are always my favorites.
We woke up bright and early on Wednesday morning ready to head over to Augusta. Being so lucky to have Berckmans Place passes we knew we would enjoy our day both on and off the golf course! The excitement and anticipation on the drive over was so much fun!
The Masters is "a tradition unlike any other" and the history that goes along with it is unmatched. As you arrive you must say goodbye to all phones and electronic devises. Kind of hard to do for someone like me who wants to capture every single moment, but thankfully we were able to bring cameras since it was a practice round day.
One of my favorite things about The Masters are all of the azaleas! The grounds are just beautiful and someone they manage to have every single azalea in full bloom.
Mine at home are just starting to bloom, but everywhere you turn here they are gorgeous!!!
Walking the course and seeing all of the famous holes in person that you see on TV is so much fun! They are so beautiful! I wish my yard could look like this. :-)
We enjoyed walking around, seeing the course, and some the fun sights on the property...
...like the leader board. I love that in our very digital world, they still do things the old school way and someone is constantly changing the board, by hand, to update patrons of how the golfers are doing.
We saw a lot of the big names...Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Ricky Fowler and my personal favorite, Jordan Spieth!
Last, but not least for today is a car I spotted outside our hotel just as we were getting ready to leave. I had to snap a pic and send it to my daughter, who loves all things Simply Southern...just as any other tween does. I told her I'd found her first car! Seriously though, how fun is this?!?!

Gosh you were so lucky to be at the Masters! Your golf outfit is super stylish - love it! I think I am bewitched by the colours at Augusta - the emerald green of the grass and the hot pink of the azaleas - it looks stunning. Hope you had an amazing time! Such a great blog - Best Wishes - Joanne x
