Create the Perfect Charcuterie Board with Coton Colors Atlanta

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Coton Colors Atlanta Charcuterie Event. While I love a good charcuterie, I stink at actually putting my own together. I was excited to learn some new tips and tricks from the on staff designer at Coton Colors, and maybe do a little post event shopping. And from start to finish the event, was perfection.

The staff did such a great job  - from start to finish every little detail was thought of. We arrived to our own charcuterie boards laid out for us to build, drinks, music, and an array of delicious snacks.

The designer was knowledgeable about everything from cheese varieties, pairings, and even a few fun tricks to style your boards with a little extra "wow".

She shared some ideas I never would have thought of on my own, and can't wait to share with my guests this holiday season. She was even great about sharing where to get quality and affordable charcuterie items if they didn't carry them in store.

Her board building skills were amazing, and her final product was almost too pretty to eat.

Almost.

We totally ate the whole yummy display.

Right down to the flowers.

After the taste testing was finished, we were able to create our own board to take home to share. We each were given the opportunity to put our skills to work, and then shop for anything in store at a discount.

How did I do?

(Not pictured: large bag of yummy goodies I purchased to take home with me!)

HOW TO BUILD THE PERFECT CHARCUTERIE BOARD

I learned so many great tips and tricks on how to build the perfect charcuterie. Here are just a few of my favorites...

  1.  When purchasing items for your charcuterie, try to have a mixture of savory, sweet, and salty to offer.
  2. The more color, the better!
  3. Think of something unique to put on your board to wow the guests. It doesn't have to be edible! (For example: The designer added figurines, cut fruit, edible flowers, as well as made a centerpiece out of a carved pumpkin and a few small flowers.)
  4. Offer guests items at different heights.
  5. Have a variety of tooth pick lengths available. (I thought having these longer tooth picks was genius! She said they help keep dangling sleeves and jewelry out of the dips.)
  6. Take off all plastic and pre-cut your cheeses before your event. This is a huge time saver! (The designer informed us she does it the day before and stores them in these wax paper bags.)
  7. Make sure to have gluten-free items on hand.
  8. Fold your meats. It looks neater, and it is easier for guests to pick up with tooth picks.

Favorite Cheese: Unexpected Cheddar (from Trader Joes). This was a crowd favorite!

Tons of you guys were interested in this event, and asked if Coton Colors plans on having another one. They have a lot of events in the works - be sure to check their events and social media pages often. There are several holiday events coming up that sound amazing! You won't want to miss them! I already can't wait to bring my girlfriends to the next event!

You're Invited: Charcuterie with Coton Colors Atlanta

What is your charcuterie style? Do you have favorite cheeses you always use? Go to accoutrements? Dips that are always a huge hit? Or do you have no clue and just throw things together?

I tend to belong in the latter category.

I love a good charcuterie board, but often just "wing it". I know how to make it pretty, but when it comes to the perfect pairings, or the best cheese combos...I'm lost.

COTON COLORS CHARCUTERIE BOARDS, ACCESSORIES & MORE!

A few weeks ago, Carrie Beth and I did a little shopping at the Coton Colors Atlanta Flagship store and met the owner and her wonderful staff. We swooned over all the amazing home decor and gift items they have in stock, and were blown away by their customer service. They strive to make sure you leave their store feeling like you got the best experience ever!

And their charcuterie board section is not to be ignored! We shared the amazing selection they have in stock - so many board sizes, patterns, and coordinating accessory options! So whether you are a charcuterie pro - or rookie - they know how to help you make it look good!

Seriously, they have the most adorable accessories. No one will care if you meats and cheeses don't coordinate. They'll be too busy giving all the heart eyes to this adorable Hedge Hog Tooth Pick Holder.

One of our favorite things about the store was that it also carried local and artisan accoutrements to help inspire you to create the perfect charcuterie board. We love when you can help support local businesses while one stop shopping - it's a win for everyone!

Stay tuned! We are looking forward to sharing what we learn at the event, what tips we can bring home with us with the upcoming holiday seas, and a few behind the scenes peeks at what we experience during the event.

Hope to see you there!

Coton Colors Atlanta

Last week we had the pleasure of meeting some of the ladies behind the amazing brand Coton Colors. We are long time fans of this brand, and you have seen us use our Coton Colors and Happy Everything pieces over and over in our posts and social feed. When they reached out to us about collaborating together on some projects and getting a flagship store tour, we leaped at the opportunity!

And we will confess...we had no idea that there was a flagship store here in Atlanta. Not only that it is located in Sandy Springs/Buckhead - literally our backyard. This could be a dangerous dangerous thing.

At least in our husband's eyes. ;)

ABOUT COTON COLORS

You can learn all about the brand on their website, but here's a quick run down. Coton Colors was founded by Laura Johnson with the inspiration of her family and the idea that all moments should be celebrated in life - big and small.

As you see across the brand she puts extra special touches and thoughts into creating pieces to celebrate life. They are bright, fun, happy, and interchangeable for any moment or holiday.

Not only that, her business is a tightly knit family affair. And reminders that this is a family owned and operated business are sprinkled around all of the Coton Color stores. We learned that each store has this special photo wall to celebrate her family. The photos are favorite ones hand selected and displayed in each family members' own homes, and set up exactly this way. A reminder of what is important most, and that Coton Colors is quite literally a celebration of that.

THE STORE TOUR

That Atlanta store is owned by Laura's niece Taylor, and she is just as darling as you would imagine. We loved chatting with her and getting the inside scoop from her team about upcoming events and trends that will be seen over the next few months.

The store has all of the amazing products you see online onsite. But then goes the extra mile to put a little local spin on it. The Coton Colors brand does a lot to support local makers and artists, and that is shown throughout our tour.

Many gifts in the flagship stores are hand selected to coordinate with the Coton Colors products so that any gift you give or purchase you make goes to support a small local business or fellow up and coming entrepreneur. From hand crafted baby blankets to all the encoutrements needed for your next charcuterie board - each one is a nod to Laura's idea to celebrate all the things and all the people!

We also love that the flagship stores will personalize and wrap your items for free if desired!

Everything from custom name plates for a wedding gift to a real estate thank you basket - they can do it all.

We just love that even though this a fast growing global home decor brand, they still put the emphasis on customer service and going the extra mile for their patrons because the backbone of their message is celebrating family. And to them, the minute you walk through that door you are their family.

FAVORITE ITEMS

Normally we would highlight a few favorite items of ours. With Coton Colors that is hard because there is just so much to love about each and every line. From classic kitchenwares to pet items to interchangeable decorative home decor pieces - we want to take it all home with us!

UPCOMING EVENTS AND HOLIDAY RELEASES

Stay tuned for a few local event announcements soon! We have a charcuterie night planned, and they have a holiday reveal party on the calendar, but just want to confirm a few details before we share.

In the meantime, you can check out their newly released holiday lines online and snag the goodies before anyone else.

Also keep your eye out for their special limited edition holiday ornament. Each year, the proceeds go to support St. Jude, and we've heard these go fast

Do you have any Coton Colors or Happy Everything pieces? Which are your favorites?
