'Tis the Season to Give...Wine!

Tis the season to give wine!
Well any season is a good season to give wine in our books, but we're going with it.

This year I feel like the holidays are coming upon us at warp speed. We've been bouncing from one fun holiday event to the next, wrapping up these last weeks of school, and attending all of the end of year performances for our extracurricular activities. In between, I've been a gifting and wrapping holiday tornado. My guest room looks like Christmas exploded in it, and I'm not sure at this point some of the glitter isn't permanent.

I've been feverishly trying to make sure I haven't left anyone off our list. Aunts, uncles, mailmen, bus drivers, gym teachers, Tae Kwon Do Masters...

Pausing for a moment - What does one get a Master? New kicking boards? Meditation music? A shiny new sword? I feel like a gift card to Target is largely inappropriate?  Suggestions welcome!

You get the idea - the list is long. One gift idea that came easily was our neighbors and a few friends - a wine gift! I mean who doesn't like wine?!? Especially if you are my neighbor. My neighbors LOVE them some wine. I think it's in the HOA covenants that you couldn't move in the neighborhood unless you were a lover of all things grape related.

I was inspired with this year's wine gift when I was ordering some party supplies from Oriental Trading for The Cutes school holiday parties. I was in the process of ordering holiday cups, and stumbled upon this fun "Tis the Season to get Tipsy" wine gift bag. It was like a sign straight from Kris Kringle himself. After looking around the site a little more I realized I could make a wine themed gift with just a few clicks.

I was so excited when all of the fun supplies arrived. I purchased everyone's favorite wines, and started putting together each one's gift.

Now in some of my neighbor's homes only one person is a wine drinker, so I decided to make two different sizes depending on each one's interests. For the smaller gift baskets, I ordered a bunch of my favorite organizers in red - that way it's also part of the gift itself and something useful to keep beyond the holidays. The mini Meori organizer is the perfect size. I was able to include the wine, one of the red stemless wine glasses, the cocktail napkins, and some fun straws - with plenty of room if I wanted to add some cheese or a treat or two.

The interior of the organizer has built in pockets, so it makes everything super easy to wrap and keep in place during transport and delivery.

I wrapped everything up in my favorite go-to easy wrapping - baking treat bags (That's right, I said treat bags. It makes it so easy to wrap things like this!), and topped it with a red polka dot bow. Then it was off front porch delivery.

For the larger couples gifts, I used a white basket and included two of the red stemless wine glasses, two sets of straws (just for fun), and a set of fun polka dot holiday napkins

I had originally ordered the small organizers for these but they ended up being just a little too large for the gift unless I added a lot of treats and extras. I wanted to keep the gift simple and easy, and didn't want to stress so I just went with the smaller baskets.

It's been such a fun gift to give, and one I know I will repeat for years to come - because, again, who doesn't like a good wine gift?

Cocktail Confessions: Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule

Two cocktail confessions in a row!  You can tell when we think holidays where our heads are.  In all seriousness though, we are trying to hold onto every last minute of fall before the Christmas season arrives and with that comes our favorite fall flavor...pumpkin spice!

We've shared several of our favorite Moscow Mule recipes here on the blog and it is no secret that it is one of our favorites.

Today we have a fall twist on this favorite and created a Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule.  We're sharing the recipe and all of the details over on Savvy Sassy Moms today.

Trust us, this is the perfect drink recipe to kick off your Thanksgiving so be sure to grab the ingredients and mix up a batch today or tomorrow or both!  Cheers!

Holiday Gift Guide: Your Southern Best Friend

Happy Monday everyone!

Listen, we know Monday's aren't always the brightest part of our week, but today might be the exception. We are sharing our holiday guide for your one and only - your  {southern} best friend!

She's been with you for highs, lows, and everything in between.

And she does it with a smile, a monogram, and a fabulous set of pearls.

Now' s your chance to show her just how much you've enjoyed her friendship - and ability to make a mean mint julep - with a fabulous gift or two!

Here's our gift guide for your oh so southern loving bestie.
(Bonus: all gifts are under $50!)

  • Wine Accessories - While we are on the subject of wine these gold pineapple themed stemless wine glasses and coordinating stopper are the perfect gift for any southern girl's home. And because she's your bestie - she will thank you for your super awesome gift by inviting you onto the porch and pouring you a glass of your favorite vino in her new amazing glasses.
  • Monogrammed Serving Pieces - There's nothing we love more in the south than entertaining...except for maybe monograms. We Southerners definitely love our monograms, and gifting your best friend one of these fun (and inexpensive) acrylic serving pieces will have you at the top of her invite list - as if you weren't there already.
  • State Love Artwork - We stumbled upon these adorable Southern City Prints and fell in love - and we know your favorite friends will too. No matter what Southern city is near and dear to their heart, they can now display that love in their home or on their desk for all to see. Bonus: these partner well with the Gold Foil State Prints we fell in love with last year!

  • Water Bottles - Your bestie will thank you as she drinks from one of these super cute water bottles that even the southern heat can't beat. With boasts of keeping drinks cold for up to 24 hours this proves to be the perfect gift for any Southern friend. Bonus points if you add a monogram to it. We love all the fun colors, but this Sparkling Champagne colored is our favorite for the holidays.

  • Monogrammed Jewelry - We've said it before but we will say it again - you can never go wrong with a monogrammed anything. Monogrammed jewelry is always a fabulous gift to give any southern girl. Monogrammed acrylic necklaces make for a fun way to customize the perfect gift, but we also couldn't help but love these colorful disced monogrammed necklaces as well.

  • Scarves - While it might not get too chilly in the South, we do love to accessorize with a cozy scarf or two during those cold-ish months. This gold anchor scarf caught our eye, but from vibrant plaids to chunky sweater infinity scarves - we know your bestie will be thanking you each time she wraps her neck in all that gorgeous warmth.

  • Southern Reads - Whether it's a new subscription to one of your favorite Southern magazines or a novel from one of your favorite Southern writers (might we suggest Andrews, Sparks, or Hilderbrand) your best friend will be singing your praises each times she snuggles up by the fire with a little piece of Southern reading comfort.

What do you plan on giving your bestie for the holidays?

Holiday Gift Guide: Babies 0-12 Months

Today's gift guide is all about one of our favorite subjects - the babies!

Seriously, nothing is cuter than a snuggly little baby during the holidays. Our baby fever is in overdrive just thinking about it.

Oh my - we could totally go overboard for this age group. There are tons of great toys and baby products on the market today, but we've cultivated a guide filled with some of our personal favorites, as well as some new hits that might be under a certain Baby Cute's tree this year.

  • Something to Snuggle - Little ones love to snuggle and have soft things from a young age. Our littles absolutely love their Jellycat Stuffed Animals, and with so many adorable options it will be hard to pick just one to put under the tree.

  • Inflatables - Inflatables are always fun, but for tiny tots there are some cute ones on a smaller scale. Inflatable Ball Pit  and balls provide endless amounts of fun, and are great for indoor and outdoor use. We love this little Fisher-Price Train ball pit!

  • Multi-functional Toys - Toys can over run the house, so we love when a toy has uses during multiple stages. This Sit & Stand Walker is perfect for the growing little tot. With its versatility for various stages, as well as being easy to store, it has been one of our favorite toys. Based off our little ones in the past they agree its one that should be under the tree!

  • Bath Toys - Bathtime is always a favorite part of the day, and what's more fun than new bath toys. We spotted this Nuby Octopus Hoopla Bathtime toy, and instantly fell in love. Not only is it super cute, but also helps work some of those motor skills as well.

  • Word Books - Those curious little minds are learning words from the very beginning. The First 100 Words has been a family favorite for years and is the perfect gift for a new little one. The entire First 100 book series is simply adorable.

  • Push Car - The Step2 Push Around Buggy is another classic toy that is perfect for this age group. Both parents and baby alike will enjoy the ability to stroll along the neighborhood in this fun ride!

  • Soft Books - We are swooning over these adorable "tail" books from Jellycat. This Farm themed book lets baby enjoy a number textures, colors, and sounds of their favorite farm animals.

  • Blocks - Blocks are a timeless favorite among baby toys. These animal themed Stack & Explore Blocks are a great inexpensive option that baby will love having under the tree.

  • Cold Weather Gear - It wouldn't be a holiday list without at least a mention of cold weather attire. This Zutano Cozie Hat and Bootie Set is made of the softest fleece to keep baby both warm and super cute this winter.

What's on your list for baby this holiday season?

Holiday Gift Guide: Let's Chat!

The Holidays are coming!!!

We are all sorts of excited around here, and have already put our present purchasing into high gear. Every year we say we are going to start early, and every year we end up having to shop - and wrap - like a crazy person on December 24th. This might or might not be due to the fact that our significant others tend to get some crazy thrill out of being the last possible person at the check out line Christmas Eve.

Happens. Every. Single. Year.

Not this year though. Not. This. Year

We plan on getting things done - and we are going to have fun in the process!

Last week we kicked off some of our holiday gift giving fun by sharing our favorite holiday gifts for teachers.  Over the next few weeks we will share some of our favorite gifts for everyone on your list this holiday season, and hope you can share some of your ideas too!

We thought it would be fun if you joined us over on Facebook for a little Holiday Chat where we dish on all our holiday needs - gift ideas, special deals we might find, the best stocking stuffers, our own personal wish lists, and more! And stay tuned...there might be a give away or two involved (hint, hint).

We've already posted a few goodies in the Holiday Chat Group, but we plan on having our first official live chat on Monday, November 21st at 9p.m.

Can't wait to rock the holidays with everyone!

So come and join the fun, and let us know who is on your holiday list this season!

Fall Home Tour {Halloween Decor}

It's almost Halloween!  I love decorating for holidays and I feel like Halloween is the beginning of a lot of fun holiday decorating at the house.  I actually pulled out all of my things over fall break so that we could enjoy them as long as possible. After I got it all up I just kept looking around and thinking to myself how happy pumpkins make me!

Outside I have my Trick or Treat garden flag as you walk up to the front steps and I added some black and white gingham ribbon and a few others to the flag stand.

Next are my front door burlap pumpkins that I made a few years ago. You can find details HERE and specific directions for this kind of door hanger HERE

For Halloween I have trick-or-treat and black/white gingham ribbon tied to them and then after Halloween I change the ribbon so I can keep the pumpkins up through Thanksgiving.

We haven't had a chance to visit a pumpkin patch yet, so we don't have any real pumpkins at the house yet so I feel the porch isn't quite done yet.  We do have one lone little baby pumpkin that Boo-Boo brought home from his preschool field trip to a pumpkin patch, though and he is very proud of it!

I love easy seasonal changes with pillows added to the chairs on the front porch.  Such a simple way to add some holiday color to the porch!

Inside I like to add little touches here and there to my regular decor. In the foyer I added a few pumpkins for my entry table and some more gingham ribbon to the lamps.

I also have a picture of my favorite themed Halloween costumes the kids wore a few years ago.

On the other side of the foyer is the antique wash stand I pained with chalk paint several months ago and to that I replaced some candles with some fabric pumpkins I made many years ago.

The kitchen holds a few other details like my chalkboard that got a new Halloween design.

This antique dough bowl belonged to my grandmother and it gets filled with some pumpkins!

In the keeping room area I have some adorable burlap banners hanging that I scored at the Target Dollar Spot last year.

Those cute little trick-or-treat pillows also came from the Dollar Spot at Target.

For the kids I keep all of our Halloween books in a basket that makes it easy for grabbing.

And even the playroom gets a few touches including these light up branches with Halloween ornaments the kids made with my mother-in-law a few years ago and their cute little ghost footprints there in the background.

That is about it!  Hope y'all enjoyed my fall home tour.  So curious...do you love decorating for holidays?  Is your house bursting with pumpkins like mine? :-)

Patriotic Perfection {Preppy & Personalized}

Happy Thursday, friends!  So we know we just celebrated Memorial Day, but we are all about holidays around here and the next one is a big one.  Fireworks, BBQ's, and red, white and blue plastered everywhere?  What is not to love about the 4th of July?!?

We're already starting to think about outfits, accessories and decor we'll be wanting for the 4th of July and our friends and Preppy & Personalized never disappoint with their adorable selection of preppy goodness!  .

While we love theme wear and decorating for holidays, we also love items that can be used beyond a specific holiday and Preppy & Personalized does just that!  They offer items that can be used all summer long so you get the most bang for your buck.  We wanted to share some of our favorite items and some things we have our eyes on for Independence Day!

Chances are you'll be near the water for the 4th of July. Whether it's the pool, beach or lake, you'll be needing a towel and turkish towels are all the rage this summer.

They are really lightweight (so they don't take up a ton of room in your bag), yet absorbent and also dry very quickly, making them the perfect choice for summer swimming.  We can't think of anything cuter than this red and navy option with a monogram!

Every mama needs a good "mom bag." You know, one big enough to hold everything you might possibly need for an outing with little ones, but something cute and stylish enough to make you feel put together? Well friends, we have found the perfect one!

This monogrammed seersucker shoulder bag is about as preppy as they come and the colors are perfect for the 4th of July!  Jen actually has this bag (see below) and loves it!  She's a sucker for all things seersucker!

And, as you can see, it will work beyond the 4th of July, too!  While it looks great with red, white and blue, it also pairs perfectly with one of our favorites...PINK!

There is nothing more American than baseball and we think these personalized baller jerseys are the cutest!  They are great for the 4th and I'm picturing my girls in these when their brother starts baseball in the fall!

It isn't only preppy things we love, but also all things nautical.  Boo-Boo's bedroom is even a nautical theme and there is something about sailboats that speaks to us.  This classic duffel or backpack could be perfect all summer long...from camps and playdates to sleepovers and vacations, we see all sorts of uses for these pieces!

Those long and hot days of summer can be brutal and there are days we don't want to come out of our swimsuits.  However, when we do need to be dressed we want something comfy and cool and our kids feel the same way.  These personalized ribbed tanks are the perfect option for summer.  They are casual and keep kids cool all summer long, but they are super cute and look nicer than just throwing on a t-shirt.  Plus, they come in patriotic colors, so they are perfect for the 4th!

Don't worry, we're not forgetting about the mamas!  We like this flair tank option for us!

What are you looking forward to most about the 4th of July?
