Fashion Fix: Leopard Print

It's no secret that Jen and I love our leopard print.  It's such a fun way to add a little something extra to an outfit and can make a surprising statement in some cases.  We think it is most definitely a neutral and can be worn with just about anything.

Leopard print is so trendy right now, but it's nothing new. It's been a part of fashion trends for ages and with a quick search on Pinterest you will find everyone from leopard print nails, bedding and even tattoos. Yes, some people love it so much they are getting leopard print tattoos.  Yikes!  I can assure you neither of us will take our love for leopard quite that far, but we are always looking for ways we can work it into our wardrobe.

I would love to somehow work it into my home decor, too, but I'm just not sure I can pull it off. I tend to lean towards a craftsman/farmhouse feel for decorating and I'm not quite sure where I would be able to add it in. However,  I have a friend who's home is gorgeous.  She uses bright and unexpected colors and mixes and matches colors and patterns in a way that really catches your eye in a great way.  She has a pair of green chairs in her entry way that have leopard pillows sitting on them and it looks SO good!  I'll have to see if I can find somewhere to add a little leopard somewhere because every time I see hers I swoon!

While I don't have any animal print in my house, I do own a lot of leopard fashion pieces so I wanted to share some of my favorites with y'all!

Back in the fall I shared my Fall Wardrobe Wish-List and a leopard belt was on the list. I found a lot of options, but ended up snagging this one from one of my favorite places on earth...TARGET!

I have worn it more times than I can count and every time I love how it adds just a touch of fun to classic pieces.

I mean, you can't beat a cute belt for under $20!

Before Christmas I was out doing some shopping and decided to pop into Nordstrom Rack. I was looking for some shoes to go with a dress I was going to wear to a wedding the next week and when I stumbled upon these beauties it was love at first sight.

It was the only pair in the entire store and they just happened to be my size.  On top of that they were on SUPER sale so I couldn't pass them up. It was like it was meant to be!  I wore them the very next week to my cousin's wedding and LOVED how they made my solid dress a little more fun!

I couldn't find the exact ones online and they may be an older model since I found them on sale, but these are also all offered by Sam Edelman and are all very similar.

And just for fun, here are a couple of other great options...even flip-flops!

One thing Jen and I agree on is that we love comfortable clothes.  One of our favorites is Victoria's Secret Pink line.  They have comfortable tops and awesome lounge wear.  This black top with leopard print accents on the sleeves is a few years old, but one of my favorites.

They have a lot of really cute options from sweats to hoodies and tanks.

And most recently I added these fun leggings to my leopard collection.  I would have NEVER had the courage to wear something like this because I just feel like it's a little wild, but I saw a friend of mine wearing a very similar outfit with leopard leggings and it looked SO good!   I had so much fun recreating the outfit (AKA totally copying her!) and as I posted on Instagram, I was walking on the wild side!

My friend looked so very cute and I was just gushing over how amazing she looked.  She told me her secret..she found the leggings in the kids section at Kohl's.  She had wanted to get them for her girls, but they didn't have their sizes so she was looking at the largest kids size and realized they would fit her.  Well that got me thinking and when I was at Target later that day shopping with my girls I walked past the leggings in the kid's section and what do you know? They had leopard leggings, too!  I tried on the kids XL and they fit perfect.  I am 5'7 and weigh around 125, but these were really comfortable and fit great. They are probably not the best quality and when I wear them I wash in cold water and lay flat to dry so they won't shrink, but for $6, it was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

I found some other leopard leggings that are available in adult sizes!  These would look cute under a black dress or tunic, or even paired with chambray like I wore mine.
